[Dovecot] Meaning of mail_max_userip_connections?
by Harald Strack 27 Sep '10

27 Sep '10

Hi, I set mail_max_userip_connections in our IMAP configuration to mail_max_userip_connections = 10 to allow users 10 parallel connections. It seems that this also limits the amount of parallel connections from one IP but different users?! Our users mostly accessing the IMAP server by a webmailer or proxies. Thus, all users (>10000) come from only 5 different IP. However, I got a lot of complaints about denied connections after setting mail_max_userip_connections = 10. Am I right with the meaning of this parameter? Thanks in advance Harry

[Dovecot] password_query, user_query and unrelated userid and emails
by Axel Luttgens 26 Sep '10

26 Sep '10

Let's say one has a SQL table with following fields for John Doe: login: u0007 password: {SHA1}... mailhome: /path/to/joeshome email: john.doe(a)example.com To log in, for internal policy reasons, John MUST make use of his userid "u0007". So, in the password_query, one would need something like: ... WHERE login = '%u' ... On the other hand, for receiving mail thru say, LMTP, one would need something like this in the user_query: ... WHERE email = '%Lu' ... With such a simplistic setup, this works fine: $ doveadm auth u0007 Password: passdb: u0007 auth succeeded but this one obviously fails: $ doveadm user u0007 userdb lookup: user u0007 doesn't exist and one has to do: $ doveadm user john.doe(a)example.com userdb: john.doe(a)example.com home : /path/to/joeshome I can't manage to devise a way to systematically refer to users thru their login, nor to avoid such messages: prefetch(u0007): passdb didn't return userd entries, trying the next userdb There sure must be a way thru adequate "SELECT ... AS ..." clauses. Could someone show me the light? Many, many TIA, Axel

[Dovecot] Settings for unlimited quota for some mailboxes
by Patrick Westenberg 26 Sep '10

26 Sep '10

Hello, I´m using Dovecot 2.0.1 with quota support (quota and imap_quota) which works perfect. However, I´d like to give some mailboxes unlimited quota. What quota setting (in the backend (SLQ)) is needed to tell Dovecot as LDA that the mailbox has unlimited quota? 0 or NULL or -1 or something else? Regards Patrick

[Dovecot] mdbox
by Daniel L. Miller 25 Sep '10

25 Sep '10

Reviewing some mailing list archives and the wiki, I still don't have a real clear picture of why I'd want to use mdbox. What I've taken from the info I've reviewed says mdbox is more complicated (than sdbox), has greater potential for breakage (simply because it's more complex), and has a theoretical performance impact depending on the exact filesystem/hardware used. Was that an accurate summary? Is mdbox something that was desired to solve a particular problem? -- Daniel

I'm running that doveadm command as root, with the -u <user> parameter, where <user> is a virtual user. Anyway, I've just read the wiki2 again, and noted that I don't really need the expire plugin, because it is only needed for the -A option. If I specify the -u parameter, it doesn't utilize the plugin. So I'm now using only the doveadm expunge -u ... command, which now gives me this output: # /usr/local/bin/doveadm -D expunge -u <user> mailbox sa.* SAVEDBEFORE 1d doveadm(root): Debug: Loading modules from directory: /usr/local/lib/dovecot doveadm(root): Debug: Module loaded: /usr/local/lib/dovecot/lib10_quota_plugin.so doveadm(root): Debug: Loading modules from directory: /usr/local/lib/dovecot/doveadm doveadm(root): Debug: Skipping module doveadm_expire_plugin, because dlopen() failed: Cannot load specified object ^^^ I'm curious about this error message. [Dovecot] LDA + Postfix + LDAP + Sieve (Vacation): Wrong Domain in Reply
by Kendall Gifford 24 Sep '10

24 Sep '10

Hello everyone. I'm running dovecot (1.2.9) with postfix (2.7.0) on an ubuntu 10.04.1. I'm hosting mail for several domains and using the dovecot local delivery agent. Everything has been working great. However, today I set up a sieve script to send out-of-office replies (vacation) for one of our users. I tested it and got the response just fine. However, when looking at the "From" header of the auto-reply, I noticed that the domain name was wrong. My postfix master.cf line for doing local delivery is: dovecot unix - n n - - pipe flags=DRhu user=mail:mail argv=/usr/lib/dovecot/deliver -f ${sender} -d ${user}@${nexthop} My LDA configuration is: protocol lda { postmaster_address = postmaster(a)our-primary-domain.com hostname = our-primary-domain.com mail_plugins = sieve quota_full_tempfail = yes deliver_log_format = msgid=%m: %$ rejection_reason = Your message to <%t> was automatically rejected:%n%r } So, our main "administrative" domain is: my-primary-domain.com, the mail server being mail.my-primary-domain.com. I sent an email to a user: janedoe(a)my-other-domain.com and the LDA with Sieve successfully sent me a reply. However, the "From" was: janedoe@mail instead of janedoe@my-other-domain. According to: http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Sieve#Vacation_auto-reply > Vacation uses envelope sender and envelope recipient ... taken from: > ... > V 1.1+ > ... > Envelope recipient: -a parameter to deliver if given, otherwise -d parameter to deliver. If neither is given (delivering to system users), the $USER environment is used. Just for kicks I tried changing my master.cf to use -a instead of -d but then all mail delivers to user "mail" completely breaking all mail delivery. Anyhow, vacation auto-responders are fundamental to operations here and we manage mail for several separate companies. We need the "From" address to reflect the domain of the actual company. I'm stumped as to why sieve isn't getting/using the envelope sender's domain. I'm hoping someone here can point out (a hopefully obvious) mistake. I've attached my four pertinent config files as etc.tgz only slightly scrubbed. Any help is greatly appreciated. -- Kendall Gifford zettabyte(a)gmail.com

[Dovecot] Trouble creating shared virtual folders
by Daniela Silva 24 Sep '10

24 Sep '10

Hi all, I've tried to contact Timo Sirainen by dovecot irc channel but since I couldn't I'm trying the mailinglist. I'm trying to create shared virtual folders, users should not be able either to create or delete a virtual folder. What is the best way to do this? I've tried to do this with virtual mailboxes, but I had problems with permissions, I removed write permissions from folder "virtual_folders" but if I do that dovecot creates "virtual_folders_indexes" without write permissions too, which in this case are needed. I've tried to solve this using ACL but as far as I understood I need an ACL file per folder, which in my case is undoable. [Dovecot] Unsubscribing from public folders
by aditsu 24 Sep '10

24 Sep '10

Hi, I'm having problems unsubscribing from public folders - nothing seems to happen when I do that (from Thunderbird, Squirrelmail or telnet). I'm using Dovecot 1.2.11. I remember that this worked when I was using version 1.1.7. Here is an extract from an imap session: 3 unsubscribe "Public-NIB/archive/older" 3 OK Unsubscribe completed. 6 lsub "" "Public-NIB/*" * LSUB () "/" "Public-NIB/archive" * LSUB () "/" "Public-NIB/archive/2008b" * LSUB () "/" "Public-NIB/archive/2009a" * LSUB () "/" "Public-NIB/archive/2009b" * LSUB () "/" "Public-NIB/archive/older" * LSUB () "/" "Public-NIB/archive/2010a" 6 OK Lsub completed. And my relevant config: namespace private { separator = / prefix = #location defaults to mail_location. inbox = yes } namespace public { separator = / prefix = Public-NIB/ location = maildir:/(some path) subscriptions = no # v1.1+ } In the meantime I checked and found a "subscriptions" file in my maildir, then went and edited it by hand (and removed the folder I wanted). That seemed to work, and afterwards I can subscribe/unsubscribe to that particular folder, but still not to any other public folders. What could be the problem, or how can I debug this? Thanks Adrian -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Unsubscribing-from-public-folders-tp29779347p29779347… Sent from the Dovecot mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

[Dovecot] Possible to split message store location?
by Edward Carraro 24 Sep '10

24 Sep '10

We have a few dovecot servers all pointing to the same mail location (an NFS mount on a NAS drive). This could lead to a possible bottleneck eventually and we were wondering if it's possible to have dovecot direct x number of users to one message store location while others get their mail on a different mount?

[Dovecot] Dovecot pop3 segfault problems
by enid vx 24 Sep '10

Hi to all, I have a Debian 4.0 x86_64 server and installed Dovecot from the repositories ii dovecot-common 1.0.rc15-2etch5 ii dovecot-imapd 1.0.rc15-2etch5 ii dovecot-pop3d 1.0.rc15-2etch5 Recently I'm getting a lot of these messages pop3[24594]: segfault at 0000000000000004 rip 000000000044333a rsp 00007fffc5d0c1e0 error 4 in syslog and also dmesg. Also the load of the servers keeps increasing (like above 100) and when dovecot is stopped the load decreases. What problem could this be and how can I resolve it? Thanks, Enid

[Dovecot] dovecot+sieve redirect action signal 11 while user homedir not defined
by Maciej Uhlig 24 Sep '10

Hi, while executing simple sieve script: require ["fileinto", "envelope"]; if header :contains "subject" "test" { redirect "user@domain"; } we got: 2010-09-23T09:25:23+02:00 st1/192.168.10.201 dovecot: [ID 583609 mail.error] master: Error: service(lmtp): child 15524 killed with signal 11 (core not dumped) in case user home directory is (erroneously) undefined. This happens with 'redirect' action only ('keep', 'fileinto' work ok). Moreover, since there is no homedir, there is no core file too :-) After user homedir was defined, the error disappeared. [Dovecot] Setting hierarchy separator
by ksrini9＠yahoo.com 24 Sep '10

I am trying to convert my maildir mail store to dbox using dsync (using "dsync -u username convert dbox:/mailstore2/dbox"). I get the following error message: dsync(root): Fatal: Mail locations must use the same virtual mailbox hierarchy separator (specify separator for the default namespace). [Dovecot] Upgrading from 2.0.1 to 2.0.3
by Jerrale G 24 Sep '10

24 Sep '10

What has changed in 2.0.3 to make dovecot start storing the inbox in a "com" subdirectory of "user@domain"directory in the inbox folder? I am guessing I need to add ":INBOX=/home/mail/%d/%n/mail/" to: mail_location = maildir:/home/mail/%d/%n/mail:CONTROL=/home/mail/control/%d/%n:INDEX=/home/mail/index/%d/%n The inbox was never defined as it automatically put the messages in either "cur" or "new" subdirectories of the "maildir" definition. Because it automatically used subdirectories, it was not a problem for it to use the "maildir" as both the Inbox directory and the directory to hold the other directories created by the user; so, I never defined the inbox. The mysql query is: user_query = SELECT CONCAT('/home/mail/', mailboxes.domain, '/', mailboxes.username, '/') AS home, CONCAT('/home/mail/', mailboxes.domain, '/', mailboxes.username, '/sieve/', mailboxes.username, '.sieve') as sieve, CONCAT('/home/mail/', mailboxes.domain, '/', mailboxes.username, '/sieve/') as sieve_dir, CONCAT('/home/mail/', mailboxes.domain, '/', mailboxes.username, '/mail/') AS maildir, 600 AS uid, 600 AS gid, CONCAT('*:storage=', ROUND(mailboxes.quota/1200), 'M') AS quota_rule, 'Trash:ignore' AS quota_rule2 FROM mail.mailboxes WHERE username = '%n' AND domain = '%d' AND active = '1' iterate_query = SELECT concat(mailboxes.username, '@', mailboxes.domain) AS user, CONCAT('/home/mail/', mailboxes.domain, '/', mailboxes.username, '/') AS home, CONCAT('/home/mail/', mailboxes.domain, '/', mailboxes.username, '/mail/') AS maildir FROM mail.mailboxes I was looking at another thread and saw where the names of dovecot fields, such as "userdb_maildir", have been prefixed with userdb to equal "userdb_maildir". Please Let me know of any changes, or additions, I need to do above. As said, I'm guessing I need to just add ":INBOX=/home/maill/%d/%n/mail/" to dovecot.conf or add ", CONCAT('/home/mail', mailboxes.domain, '/', mailboxex.username, '/mail/') AS INBOX" to the mysql query. Am I correct? Thanks Jerrale G. SC Senior Admin

[Dovecot] Creating 'trash' folder
by Jerry 23 Sep '10

23 Sep '10

This might well be OT; however, I thought I would ask anyway. Please keep in mind that the IMAP server is Dovecot. I have a friend who uses Becky Internet Mail <http://www.rimarts.co.jp/becky.htm> on a Windows system. There us an options under the configuration menu in Becky to create the trash folder on the server. It suggest ".trash" for the name. He is aware that I use Dovecot and wanted to know if that would actually work. He claims to have activated that option in Becky; however, the trash folder was never actually created, or at least he was unable to locate it. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this sort of thing. I could gather more information, but I doubt that this really has anything to do with Dovecot anyway. -- Jerry ✌ Dovecot.user(a)seibercom.net Disclaimer: off-list followups get on-list replies or get ignored. [Dovecot] Plain-Text & CRAM-MD5
by Leander S. 23 Sep '10

Hi there, I'm currently running my auth against CRAM-MD5 only. But I face problems with customers who apparently have smart phones which ONLY support plain-text authentification ;( Bad - I know, but what should I do ... ;/ So my question now is: Is it possible to run CRAM-MD5 as well as Plain-Text auth together with Postfix if Postfix is using Dovecot's SASL auth service? Cause that's how my setup currently looks like - except the plain-text auth ... Thanks & Regards

[Dovecot] recursive locks
by Mike Abbott 23 Sep '10

How can a dovecot-2 plugin safely use file-locks or file-dotlocks when the processes into which it plugs handle multiple connections? (Via, e.g., service imap { client_limit = N service_count = 0 }) Dovecot's file-locks and file-dotlocks do not appear to support nesting/recursion. For instance, squat_trie_lock(). Imagine one user is connected to a single imap process twice.

Hi, we have upgraded from v2.0.1 to v2.0.3 yesterday, trying to solve the "dovecot-uidlist: Duplicate file entry" errors. Now, at the moment, we don't get these errors, but when I try to expunge mails from my trash folder I get a lot of errors: Sep 23 14:24:51 imap1 dovecot: imap(user): Error: Mailbox Trash: Expunged GUID mismatch for UID 20193: 442b5ef0c3d3bf3cf4cb619944dce8e4 vs 0431b9bee05471199fabbc05af3a87a5 (with different GUIDs, and UIDs) and the mails are not expunged from Trash mailbox. Also, I have tried with "doveadm force-resync -u user Trash" and "doveadm expunge -u user mailbox Trash ALL" but not resolve the problem... Thanks Xavier Pons

[Dovecot] Sieve force SSL
by Lukas Haase 23 Sep '10

23 Sep '10

Hi, I have activated only imaps and managesieve. As sieve is running on a different port/protocol: Can I make sure that sieve can ONLY be used with SSL/TLS? As the credentials are transmitted I only offer services with SSL (IMAPS, SMTP over SSL, ...). For sieve I am not sure about this. If there is the possibility that user's credentials are transmitted in plain text I would block the port from the firewall, else I would offer my users the feature to change their rules with their own client (e.g. Thunderbird sieve). Noticing for those that have quota fulls, my syslog is getting full of errors from sieve: dovecot: lda(user(a)host.com): Error: sieve: script /data/mail/host.com/user(a)host.com//.dovecot.sieve failed with unsuccessful implicit keep (user logfile /data/mail/host.com/user(a)host.com//.dovecot.sieve.log may reveal additional details) Checking the .dovecot.sieve.log I see: sieve: info: started log at Sep 22 00:38:11. error: msgid=<dovecot-1285137490-378260-0(a)storagebox.host.com>: failed to store into mailbox 'INBOX': Quota exceeded ( mailbox for user is full). Any way to suppress these quota full messages from filling up my logs and .dovecot.sieve.log ? I do like the .dovecot.sieve.log for debugging, but regular quota warnings seems excessive. Thanks, Cassidy

[Dovecot] Vpopmail support broken
by Matt Brookings 23 Sep '10

23 Sep '10

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 My apologies if I'm posting for information which has already been supplied to the list. I searched and all I found was people talking about the change in 2.0.3, but no details on the commit other than "I was tired of people telling me it crashes". We have not received any reports for the 5.4 or 5.5 branch of vpopmail causing crashes in Dovecot. That being said, if there is a problem, we would like to provide a fix. Again, if details on the specifics of the problem have been supplied, I apologize. Can anyone please provide me some reproduction details for Dovecot 2.0.3's vpopmail plugin compiled against vpopmail 5.4.30+ or 5.5.0? Removing the "vpopmail support broken" line from the configure script, compiling and running seemed to work short-term. I was able to authenticate against the vpopmail plugin. I tested with vpopmail 5.4.32 and 5.5.0 using the cdb authentication module. [Dovecot] xz compression support
by Attila Nagy 23 Sep '10

23 Sep '10

Hello, Just wondering: Dovecot has gzip/bzip2 compression/decompression support. According to this: http://stephane.lesimple.fr/wiki/blog/lzop_vs_compress_vs_gzip_vs_bzip2_vs_… gzip and bzip2 aren't really useful together. While gzip can offer speed and a reasonable amount of compression ratio, bzip2 is slow, especially on decompression, which Dovecot does more frequently than compression (1 vs many). So: is it planned to include xz (liblzma) support? It would be useful especially for compressing old mails in the background (due to the resource intensity of the compression phase). Thanks,

[Dovecot] Panic: file mailbox-list-fs.c
by Burckhard Schmidt 22 Sep '10

Hi, I have dovecot 2.0.3. Mailboxes have been converted with dsync from mbox to maildir last week. There it was still version 2.0.2. [Dovecot] "Documentation" link from http://www.dovecot.org/
by William Blunn 22 Sep '10

22 Sep '10

On the Dovecot home page http://www.dovecot.org/ we have a link "Documentation" which links to the Dovecot 1.x wiki ( http://wiki.dovecot.org/ ). There is a question mark in my mind as to whether that is a good idea considering as how the current stable version of Dovecot appears to be 2.0.x. In the Dovecot 1.x wiki, there is a pink stripe across the top of the page which says that the documentation is for Dovecot 1.x. It looks as though the intention was to make that prominent so as to guide visitors to the right documentation, and I think to a certain extent it may work. But I am wondering if perhaps the stripe could be too easily missed. People might start browsing around in the Dovecot 1.x wiki without it even occurring to them that there was a whole another wiki for 2.x. I have an idea: Perhaps the "Documentation" link on the home page could be re-worked to something like Documentation v2.x v1.x where "v2.x" and "v1.x" are links to the two wikis. This would make it obvious that there was different documentation available for v2.x and v1.x, and encourage visitors to choose the appropriate set. Bill

[Dovecot] service(imap-login): chiled ... killed with signal 11
by Burckhard Schmidt 22 Sep '10

22 Sep '10

Hi, dovecot 2.0.3 After closing the imap(s) connection dovecot crashes: imap-login: Info: Aborted login (no auth attempts): rip=... lip=... mpid=0 master: Error: service(imap-login): child 18636 killed with signal 11 (core not dumped - set service imap-login { drop_priv_before_exec=yes }) master: Warning: Killed with signal 15 (by pid=18643 uid=0 code=kill) It also happens if I only telnet to the imap(s) port and give the only command "1 logout". How can I get a dump for backtracing? With drop_priv_before_exec=yes I get a config error: doveconf: Fatal: Error in configuration file /usr/dovecot/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf: service(imap-login): drop_priv_before_exec=yes can't be used with chroot As user I can login and work normaly but I have to reconnect after a differnet connection will be closed causing a dovecot crash. Additional information: Solaris 10, packages openssl, openldap by opencsw I had seen a similar error during login process already with an rc-version. Because opencsw offers only an older version of openssl I installed current versions of openssl and openldap, So it works again. Now both packaged are up to date at opencsw. So I would like using these packages again when I install dovecot. Any hints? -- Mit freundlichen Gruessen --- Burckhard Schmidt

[Dovecot] Sieve autoreply woes on test setup

Hi, I have been testing sieve in my setup with qmail-ldap and deliver on a LAN with an artificial domain name. [Dovecot] Support for spaces in plaintext passwords?
by Simon 22 Sep '10

22 Sep '10

Hi! I have problems with my cellphone. It does not seem to quote the strings to the login command. I can logon using ie SquirrelMail but if i try to login using AndroidMail it just says "autentication failed". If i try maualy i get similar results. Changing password for test to "password-" a login test password- a OK Logged in. Changing password for test to "password " * OK Dovecot ready. a login test password #here i type "password ", but without "" a NO Authentication failed. Uppon examining squirrelmails comunication it sends login "test" "password " I will of cause file a bugreport that Android Mail should use quoted strings when using 'login' autentication as per rfc2060 (which seems to allow it but not demand it). But i wonder if it is possible to work around this issue in Dovecot somehow?

[Dovecot] expire_tool trouble + howto part sasl from 1.1.7 -> 2.0.1?
by Igor Kowalski 21 Sep '10

21 Sep '10

Hello! Let me smuggle 2 questions in 1 email: 1) I upgraded from 1.1.7 to 2.0.1, but couldn't get it to work, because the 'dovecot + postfix sasl howto' doesn't seem to be updated and the old sasl settings are incompatible with new version. How do I set up sasl with dovecot2 ? Is there any updated howto available? 2) In dovecot 1.1.7: my expire_plugin seems to work fine, new entries are correctly added to the dictionary, but the messages don't actually get expunged. expire_tool says: dovecot --exec-mail ext /usr/lib/dovecot/expire-tool --test Info: maildir: data=~/Maildir Info: maildir++: root=/home/virtual/<domain>/<user>/Maildir, index=, control=, inbox=/home/virtual/<domain>/<user>/Maildir Info: <user>@<domain>/Trash: timestamp 1285005106 (Mon Sep 20 18:51:46 2010 ) -> 1290102903 (Mon Sep 20 18:51:46 2010 ) Info: <user2>@<domain>/Trash: stop, expire time in future: Sat Nov 6 18:33:12 2010 Messages are only updated in the dictionary, but nothing is ever expunged. [Dovecot] MD5 to CRAM-MD5 password conversion?

We have a plethora of accounts for which we would like to enable CRAM-MD5 but their passwords are stored as MD5 hashes. Is there anything we can do? Can we take a linux MD5 hashed password (e.g. $1$fac330ee$wd6Tll...) and convert it to dovecot's CRAM-MD5 format (e.g. {CRAM-MD5}b3f297...)? Thanks!

[Dovecot] understand the struct message_header_line
by Alex Baule 21 Sep '10

21 Sep '10

Timo... Using the src/lib-mail/test-istream-header-filter.c as example, and following your tips to jump my desired header value, but i need to store the value from the Header filtered. In the Exemple, the callback is this: static void filter_callback(struct message_header_line *hdr, bool *matched, void *context ATTR_UNUSED) { if (hdr != NULL && hdr->name_offset == 0) { /* drop first header */ *matched = TRUE; } } What i try to understand is how the structs work, it's save the entire header or every line from header call the callback function ? hdr->name_offset is the size of elements in the struct ? (like a array of message_header_line) The void *context ATTR_UNUSED i can pass what i want to change ? like a pointer to a variable ?

When we tag messages in Inbox, the tags disappear after a while. In the other folders they stay. I found two possible solutions suggested - 1. Set mbox_lazy_writes=no 2. Convert the Inbox to maildir What would be the best approach in your opinion? Would suggest not following the Debian Lenny stable version (1.0.15), but compiling the current stable Dovecot? Thank you very much, Iv

[Dovecot] Problem installing latest dovecot w vpopmail
by Joe ＠ 3ZZZ 21 Sep '10

Hello - I am trying to migrate my dovecot installation from an older server running version 1.x to the latest 2.0.3 When I run configure --with-vpopmail, it bombs pretty quick as follows: ./configure --with-vpopmail checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking for a thread-safe mkdir -p... /bin/mkdir -p checking for gawk... gawk checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no configure: error: vpopmail support is broken. fix it or access its db another way. however, vpopmail seems to be working fine, i can add domains from vpopmail/bin/vadddomain and they show up in the database just fine. So why do I receive this error and how can i troubleshoot? thank you very much in advance, Joe

[Dovecot] configure error
by Andreas Kossack 21 Sep '10

Hi all, on my system ("AIX 6.1" with "xlc -q64") the "configure" script for "dovecot-2.0.2" breaks with: checking whether fd passing works... no configure: error: fd passing is required for Dovecot to work in config.log: configure:19524: ./conftest configure:19524: $? = 1 configure: program exited with status 1 It seems, that the last changes in "src/lib/fdpass.c" are the reason. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 109a110 > void *cmsg_data; 132c133,134 < *((int *) CMSG_DATA(cmsg)) = send_fd; --- > cmsg_data = CMSG_DATA(cmsg); > *(int *)cmsg_data = send_fd; 166a169 > void *cmsg_data; 196,197c199,202 < else < *fd = *((int *) CMSG_DATA(cmsg)); --- > else { > cmsg_data = CMSG_DATA(cmsg); > *fd = *(int *)cmsg_data; > } ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using the old version (from "src/lib/fdpass.c") make no trouble. -- Kind regards / Mit freundlichen Grüßen A. [Dovecot] dovecot-2.0.3 - can not upload message, over quota
by LEVAI Daniel 20 Sep '10

Hi! I've upgraded to 2.0.3 from 1.2, and it is so far so good. I especially like the new doveadm tool. I have only one tiny problem: Every time I try to upload a message to the server (eg. to a 'Sent' folder, while sending a message), it fails with an error saying I'm over my quota. I'm using mutt, and this is the exact message I get in mutt: [OVERQUOTA] Quota exceeded (mailbox for user is full) Now this is not true, because dovecot-lda can save message to any of my folders, and doveadm says I have no quota (which is true): # doveadm quota get -u <user> Quota name Type Value Limit % User quota STORAGE 1075010 - 0 User quota MESSAGE 26750 - 0 Dovecot logs say nothing about this. Why is that error message then? (I must admit that I didn't try with another mail client.) I've tried to recalc the quota with doveadm but no luck. doveconf -n: # 2.0.3: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: OpenBSD 4.7 i386 default_internal_user = _dovecot default_login_user = _dovenull dict { expire = pgsql:/etc/dovecot/dovecot-sql.conf } info_log_path = /var/log/mail/dovecot.info listen = 127.0.0.1 log_path = /var/log/mail/dovecot.log mail_location = maildir:~/Maildir/ mail_plugins = quota expire passdb { args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-sql.conf driver = sql } plugin { expire = sa.* 1 expire_dict = proxy::expire quota = maildir:User quota quota_rule = *:storage=100M quota_rule2 = Trash:storage=+50M } protocols = pop3 imap userdb { driver = prefetch } userdb { args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-sql.conf driver = sql } protocol imap { mail_plugins = $mail_plugins imap_quota } protocol pop3 { mail_plugins = $mail_plugins pop3_client_workarounds = outlook-no-nuls oe-ns-eoh pop3_uidl_format = %08Xu%08Xv } protocol lda { deliver_log_format = msgid=%m, from=%f, subject=%s: %$ mail_plugins = $mail_plugins sieve sendmail_path = /usr/local/sbin/sendmail } TIA, Daniel -- LÉVAI Dániel PGP key ID = 0x83B63A8F Key fingerprint = DBEC C66B A47A DFA2 792D 650C C69B BE4C 83B6 3A8F
