Hi I´m trying to figure how to proper configure postfix+dovecot to enforce quotas from a AD (ldap). I´m using the following configuration: dovecot.conf: ... protocol lda { mail_plugins = quota .. } auth default { passdb ldap { args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-ldap-pass.conf } userdb ldap { args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-ldap.conf } ... } plugin { quota = maildir:User quota #quota_rule = *:storage=2M // tried with and without this line } dovecot-ldap.conf: ... user_attrs = sAMAccountName=mail=maildir:/var/vmail/%$/Maildir, quotaMail=quota_rule=*:storage=%$ user_filter = (&(objectClass=person)(|(mail=%u)(sAMAccountName=%u))) pass_attrs = sAMAaccountName=user,userPassword=password pass_filter = (&(objectClass=person)(sAMAaccountName=%u)) Quotas are set by the quotaMail in AD. What I´m doing wrong? [Dovecot] Dovecot lda with qmail

Dear All, According to my setup i can not call |/var/qmail/bin/preline -f /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/dovecot-lda from my /var/qmail/control/defaultdelivery file, Instead making a perl file which will call the same for delivery of mails. If i put the following code in my mail.pl |/var/qmail/bin/preline -f /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/dovecot-lda then it throws error in running file from command line. Warning: Use of "-f" without parentheses is ambiguous at /var/qmail/bin/mail.pl line 2. syntax error at /var/qmail/bin/mail.pl line 2, near "|" Execution of /var/qmail/bin/mail.pl aborted due to compilation errors. content of mail.pl #!/usr/bin/perl |/var/qmail/bin/preline -f /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/dovecot-lda Any help will be useful for me. [Dovecot] dovecot-lda logging

Hi everyone, I'm using Postfix and Dovecot with dovecot-lda used for local delivery. I've successfully migrated from 1.2.13 to 2.0.0 however I have a little problem with dovecot-lda logging. With version 1.2.13, I use to log dovecot-lda to /var/log/dovecot-lda.log with world-writable mode. With version 2.0.0, postfix complains: "Can't open log file /var/log/dovecot.log: permission denied". This is understandable because my dovecot.log file is 0600 mode. My question is how do I retain the 1.2.13 functionality of logging dovecot-lda to /var/log/dovecot-lda.log. I've read the LDA.txt in the wiki documentation and it states I can override log_path & info_log_path like this: protocol lda { log_path = /var/log/dovecot-lda.log info_log_path = /var/log/dovecot-lda.log } What I don't know is where to add that segment. Should I add it to 10-logging.conf or 15-lda.conf? Right now I've added that to both the files but I still see the postfix permission denied message. I will appreciate if someone can help out. That should say : "Open source and Free software should be as easy as Windows" In this way we allow someone running BSD, Solaris or some port of Debian to an old Dec AlphaServer will have the same level of functionality provided standards are adhered to. Once programmers begin to see everything in the light of Linux then we can also kiss goodbye the opportunity for portability to other OS types. Dennis

[Dovecot] Pigeonhole: error while loading shared libraries

Hi, I built pigeonhole from the hg repo for Dovecot 2.0. Local sieve scripts work fine. But as soon as I try to connect via managesieve I get this errror: managesieve-login: Error: dovecot/managesieve-login: error while loading shared libraries: libdovecot-login.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory My dovecot install is in /usr/lib/dovecot and I had to symlink the libs in the dovecot folder to /usr/lib to make managesieve work. My configure options were: "--prefix=/usr --with-dovecot=/usr/lib/dovecot" Sebastian -- The best thing about a boolean is even if you are wrong, you are only off by a bit.

[Dovecot] rare index cache error with dovecot 1.2.10

Hi, since some time for a single user updating the Maildir/dovecot.index.cache file produced errors whenever it needed to be updated: Aug 15 04:16:40 imapsrv dovecot: deliver(user): pwrite() failed: File too large Aug 15 04:16:40 imapsrv dovecot: deliver(user): file_set_size() failed with index cache file /var/spool/mail/mamuzic/Maildir/dovecot.index.cache: File too large The file itself was 55115776 bytes and a test program using pwrite with any reasonable size or offset does not produce the EFBIG error. Looking to the file contents the start of the file looks correct to me ( according to src/lib-index/mail-cache-private.h ) and despite of the error message the file gets updated and contains always the headers of the most recent incoming mail near the end of the file. After removing the file the cache was rebuilt properly (currently at 9MB). As this happened only for a single user out of approx 500 and after more than one year of using dovecot without any other problems I guess this is a very rare case. As pwrite tests do not show the error this seems not to be an issue with low file limits (as suggested in another mail on this topic) but maybe a lookup of corrupt addresses from the index.cache. I have saved the dovecot.index.cache, but as it is rather large (55MB) and does contain a lot of privacy information I would rather not make it accessible.
