I think I've fixed now all of the bugs ever reported about dsync and I'm hopeful that it's now stable. All the rest of Dovecot looks pretty good too. Maybe v2.0.0 will be out next week. Changes since rc2: * Single-dbox is now called "sdbox" instead of "dbox". "dbox" will stay as an alias for it for now. + Added mail_temp_dir setting, used by deliver and lmtp for creating temporary mail files. Default is /tmp. + doveadm: Added "director map" command to list user -> host mappings. - imap: Fixed checking if list=children namespace has children. - director: If all login processes died, director stopped reading proxy-notify input and caused future login processes to hang - mail_log plugin configuration was broken - Using more than 2 plugins could have caused broken behavior - mdbox: Race condition fixes related to copying and purging - dsync: Lots of fixes

Hello Everyone.... I need to develop some plugins, but i can't know if is possible to do or not. 1 - There is a way to deny a email to be moved from one folder to another ? example: the user is only allowed to move mails in Spam Folder to Trash Folder. If yes, were i can find a code example or a plugin to extract some idea. 2 - It's possible to deny a user to create a subscription folder ? example: with autocreate plugin, i create a Spam Folder, but if the autocreate is not configured to this user, it can't create manually this same folder. If yes, were i can find a code example or a plugin to extract some idea. Tks !

[Dovecot] doveadm mailbox create -7 … returns 0

Hi Timo, I'm using doveadm in my script to create [sm]dboxes. For some reason I forgot to remove the -7 option in my script. I wondered why no mailboxes were created and the script didn't report an error - it checks the exit status from doveadm. [Dovecot] NFS Maildirs

Hi, We have our user homedirs on nfs so I enabled nfs parameters in dovecot.conf. Everything works fine but when I want to delete a homedir of a user I can't delete it because I can't remove the .nfs files in the Maildir. I don't want to stop dovecot, remove the homedir and start dovecot. Is there another way to accomplish this. [Dovecot] Applemail did not sync when MailTags enabled

Hi I run dovecot 1.2.11. One of my users turned on MailTags in his AppleMail with the effect that he could not anymore synchronize his imap folders. No error message, just endless waiting. Has anybody experienced a similar behaviour? Thanks John

[Dovecot] Feature request: usernames and passwords

A relatively recent development that spammers got wind of is users that have username==password, with/without the domain. I am tracking numerous 1-off attempts from bots to gain access to mailboxes this way. Situation isn't made any better if you're also using dovecot as SMTP AUTH provider for I am ashamed to admit I've relayed some spam that way. Would it be possible to deny login if username==password with a (non?)polite/custom message to go change your password to something less obvious ?

[Dovecot] Dovecot 2.0 progress?

Hi, Been having a look at the roadmap on the wiki for Dovecot 2.0 and I was wondering how that's progressing? Are you able to offer a guesstimate on how far it is from stable Timo? Just asking because we're moving to new servers soon and I'm considering using the opportunity to switch from Dovecot/Maildrop/Maildir to Dovecot/deliver/mdbox if 2.0 is likely to be reasonably safe to use in the next month or so.
