[Dovecot] Small deliver bug

Setting "mail_location=maildir:~/Maildir:INDEX=~/index:CONTROL=~/control" (or separating INDEX and CONTROL in general) along with "quota=maildir" (and or having a ~/.dovecot.sieve) appears to expose a small bug in deliver (version 1.1.3, but probably all). While deliver will create a missing INDEX directory, it throws an error if the CONTROL directory is missing, exiting with exit code 75 and the following message: Internal error occurred. Refer to server log for more information. Hi, I'm a Dovecot newb playing with version 1.1.3 port under FreeBSD. After setting up dovecot-sql.conf for MySQL I can't check mail via POP3: ... password_query = \ SELECT CONCAT(username, '@', d.name) AS user, password \ FROM users u JOIN domains d ON u.domain_id=d.id \ WHERE username='%n' AND d.name='%d' AND active (with or without \ line breaks - same thing) rihad@rihad:~$ telnet nigar pop3 Trying 192.168.0.248... Connected to nigar.localnet. Escape character is '^]'. +OK Dovecot ready. user rihad(a)bar.com +OK pass 123456 -ERR Authentication failed. quit +OK Logging out Connection closed by foreign host. MySQL query log shows: 080919 21:19:51 4 Query SELECT CONCAT(username, '@', d.name) AS user, password FROM users u JOIN domains d ON u.domain_id=d.id WHERE username='rihad' AND d.name='' AND active Further investigation revealed that %u is just rihad and not rihad(a)bar.com. Any hints? TIA.

[Dovecot] Possible bug involving LDA and Namespaces

Hi All, Yesterday I began experimenting with using LDA to do delivery. To begin with I'm using a .forward file entry for myself so as to avoid affecting other users. That namespace is defined with "list = no" as can be seen in the following dovecot.conf excerpt: > namespace private { > separator = . > prefix = INBOX. > inbox = yes > } > > # For Mac Mail.app > namespace private { > list = no > separator = / > prefix = INBOX/ > inbox = no > hidden = yes > } Nonetheless, when deliver starts up it believes that both namespaces have "list = yes". Is this potentially a bug in the way deliver reads the configuration file data? I've not looked into the code yet as I imagine that getting up to speed on it might take some time. As another data point, actually logging in via IMAP and running "list "" "*"" shows only one namespace. Any advice here would be appreciated. [Dovecot] Adding new password schemes?

Hi, all. I was curious how difficult it would be to add a new password scheme to Dovecot? I have to transplant mailboxes from one machine to another, the older machine running Post.Office from now-defunct Software.Com, which was bought by OpenWave, then discontinued. Apparently, Netscape's mailserver offering from the day also supports this scheme. There's code out there that was incorporated into OpenLDAP a while back which can read this scheme, but I need to use MySQL as a source for this. [Dovecot] antispam plugin signature-log backend with v1.1.2

Hello, Is the signature-log backend of the antispam plugin broken when compiling with dovecot version 1.1.2? I'm using version 1.0 of the antispam plugin. The problem is the file glob on line 344 in convert_subscriptions() # read updates from the directory my %updates; foreach (<$keyword_dir/*>) { This isn't going to pick up any files beginning with a dot, so most of the update files in the courierimapkeywords directory are going to be skipped.

Does the keyword/action discard work by default or is there something I have to do in the configuration to get to work... maybe I missed something on http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Sieve I have the following rule: if anyof ( header :contains ["Subject"] ["Test Discard"] ) { discard; stop; } but it delivers to INBOX with or w/o the "stop;". If I change the rule to if anyof ( header :contains ["Subject"] ["Test Discard"] ) { fileinto "spam"; stop; } the message will deliver into my spam folder which makes me think I am doing something wrong with "discard". Using 1.0.2 sieve plug-in. Thanks.

Hi, i've upgrade dovecot 1.0.10 to 1.1.3 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 I've installed http://dl.atrpms.net/all/dovecot-1.1.3-0_80.src.rpm with http://www.rename-it.nl/dovecot/1.1/dovecot-1.1.3-managesieve-0.10.3.diff.gz patch.
