Hi Timo, in the wiki there is only talked about gfs filesystem are there any known breaking problems using ocfs2 with dovecot ? in my vmware setup ocfs2 seems to be more debian/ubuntu config friendly like gfs dont got gfs to run, perhaps this might be better on suse/centos/redhat but i simply want to use ubuntu hardy server version -- Best Regards MfG Robert Schetterer Germany/Munich/Bavaria

Thanks Buddy, I got it working. It was giving error when running make 'undefined reference to `request_init' etc' then I ran it with gmake LDFLAGS+=-lwrap and it worked and everything is working fine. However i never got a dump. I used the packages provided by "deb http://xi.rename-it.nl/debian/ testing-auto main". I don't know if these contain the debugging symbols. Hello, I've been trying to get managesieve to work for our LAN, but when I try to login from a remote host i always get the following line in the log file: dovecot: child 26014 (login) killed with signal 11 When i enable debuging, it just gives me that line, nothing more. I can only login from the localhost through telnet but not from a remote host. [Dovecot] antispam plugin claims "antispam signature not found"

Hi, I am trying to setup the antispam plugin using the direct dspam backend. I have set antispam_signature = X-DSPAM-Signature in dovecot.conf and in all mails I have signature lines like X-DSPAM-Signature: 1,49084a24139132188715614 but still, if I try to move a mail into the spam folder, i get the IMAP error message "antispam signature not found". I thought it might have to do with permissions and made sure that the user running dovecot is able to execute the dspam binary. I also tried to enable debug logging to syslog (via the .config file in the make process) but I do not see any debug messages showing up; where should these go? to the mail facility? Perhaps somebody who has a working setup can shed some light on this? Yours, JC

Hello,. i installed dovecot with virtual user and domains. but i dont get thru "dovecot-antispam" config. is there any HOWTO, for gentoo , how to setup and configure dovecot-antispam ? with examples for the config files ? maybe i have dspam self totally wrong configured. thanks marko

[Dovecot] Renames across namespaces

Will Dovecot ever support renames across namespaces? I'm attempting to support mailboxes under "INBOX" for compatibility with Courier, which I'm trying to replace, while also supporting mailboxes with no prefix. I don't want to confuse new users (who aren't already subscribed to their mailboxes with the INBOX prefix) by listing the entire tree twice (parented at the root and at INBOX.) This configuration seems to provide what I want: mail_location: maildir:~/mail namespace: type: private separator: . prefix: INBOX. inbox: yes hidden: yes namespace: type: private separator: . list: yes subscriptions: yes ...except that, when a legacy user tries to delete a mailbox under INBOX, Thunderbird (at least) renames the mailbox to make it a child of Trash at the root, e.g.: tag123 RENAME "INBOX.test" "Trash.test" tag123 NO Can't rename mailbox to another storage type. I was a little surprised that it didn't work at first, since they're both using the same (default) mail_location, but I see why it doesn't work after looking at the code. Is there any chance cross-namespace (and even cross-storage _type_) wouldn't eventually be supported? (I guess that the big problem is making cross-type renames appear atomic to clients.) Hi all, Is there a function to modify the fetch order of messages? We have just migrated from Courier to Dovecot and I notice that there is a slight difference in the way messages are fetched in Dovecot compared to Courier. But if we fetch the latest 25 messages, Dovecot will fetch the lowest UID in the list first, so from the example above it would fetch UID 171,172,173 and so on. Courier on the other hand would start the fetch on UID 195,194,193 and so on. We have an internal developed webmail application that has been affected by this change, so I am just wondering whether there is a interim fix while we fix our webmail application to cater for this.
