I think sieve vacation is cutting off the last line of the vacation message, is this a known problem? vacation addresses: "john(a)example.com" "not here now" Would return an empty message, changing it to: vacation addresses: "john(a)example.com" "not here now have a nice day" And it would send a message with only "not here now" in it, but not "have a nice day". [Dovecot] Dovecot + MySQL problem

I recently upgraded my Fedora Core 6 (mail)server to Fedora 8. Unfortunately I don't any more have absolutely reliable information available on the Dovecot version that was the last one I had on FC6, but I guess it has been 1.0.3 (I found it from a FC6 repo right now). Currently, Fedora 8 has version 1.0.7 that comes as binary rpm from Fedora repos. So, the problem: I had set up an authentication system using mysql database. It worked fine as long as I were using FC6, but after upgrade Dovecot dies immediatedly after the system startup, writing this to log: Jan 24 16:14:46 test dovecot: Dovecot v1.0.7 starting up Jan 24 16:14:46 test dovecot: auth(default): Unknown database driver 'mysql' Jan 24 16:14:46 test dovecot: Auth process died too early - shutting down My first idea was that Dovecot is compiled without sql support. However: [root@test etc]# dovecot --build-options Build options: ioloop=poll notify=inotify ipv6 openssl SQL drivers: mysql postgresql sqlite Passdb: checkpassword ldap pam passwd passwd-file shadow sql Userdb: checkpassword ldap passwd prefetch passwd-file sql static If I change "mysql" to "pgsql" in the following in the conf file, the error message will change accordingly: # Database driver: mysql, pgsql, sqlite #driver = driver = mysql I also have CentOS 5.1 system with Dovecot 1.0.rc15. I tried the database authentication with similar conf there, it did work. So, is there an essential (intentional) change in sql configuration between 1.0.rc15 (and obviously 1.0.3) to 1.0.7, or should I start finding the problem from incorrectly built binary of 1.0.7? I have a few clients that have more than one user in the same mailbox. I have my setup using fctrl for mailbox and index locking. My mail is stored on a network file system (gluster) and my indexes are stored on the local drive. [Dovecot] Maildir format, "From " in the first line

Hello, Using Dovecot's deliver MDA, all mails are stored with the line "From <sender> <date>" appended. When forwarding these mails as attachements, the recipients get the source code. When Postfix delivers emails directly in the Maildirs, this first line is not appended, and there is no problem when forwarding the mails. Why is this line appended by deliver ? Is there a way to remove it ? Or is there something else I can do to avoid this forwarding problem. I'm using Dovecot 1.0.rc15 from Debian Etch. [Dovecot] Cyrus migration program updated

I updated cyrus2courier to work with Cyrus v2.2.12 and v2.3.9. It also migrates now keywords (first 26 of them). I call this version 1.5.ts, at least until (if) an official v1.5 is released. You can get it from http://dovecot.org/tools/

Forgive me, if this has been previously discussed. I researched as best I could. I couldn't find anyone mentioning it. Please treat me as a newbie. I've recently set up postfix, amavisd-new/SpamAssassin, and dovecot. All three utilize a user database in a MySQL db (on the same host). So far, so good. The problem: I wanted amavisd-new to deliver an e-mail above the "$sa_tag2_level_deflt" to the spam mailbox inside each user account. To accomplish this, I've instituted (best as I can tell) "plus addressing." The idea, if I have this correct, is that if a spam message is being sent to "<user>@<domain>.<tld>", amavisd-new will change the receiving address to "<user>+spam@<domain>.<tld>". The "+spam" will translate to the mailbox named "spam" within the structure of "<user>"'s mailbox. I think the important lines from the amavisd-new config are: @addr_extension_spam_maps = ('spam'); $recipient_delimiter = '+'; Long story short, (too late) the e-mails are being delivered, but to a completely new mailbox called "<user>+spam". For example, when I list the directory "<domain>.<tld>", I now see two mailboxes (as opposed to one): "<user>" and "<user>+spam". Is there something I need to configure within dovecot to have it recognize "plus addressing", or should it do so by default? I'm certain I've just missed something really simple. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks! - Jon
