[Dovecot] 1.0rc7 - dumb question

I am configuring dovecot 1.0rc7 to authenticate users (system users) in /etc/passwd. hi there i have a such problem: in dovecot.conf ... protocol imap { listen = *:143 ssl_listen = *:993 mail_plugins = quota imap_quota } ... quota = dirsize:storage=10240 ... in dovecot-ldap.conf: ... user_attrs = uid,,,uid,uidNumber,gidNumber,boxQuota=quota=dirsize:storage ... when an user try to answer out from overquoted box he got the message "overquota blahblahblah", BUT the message still goes... it seems that the imap_quota worked (report about the overquota) but plugin quota dont work. in dovecot logs : ... [Dovecot] Migrating from uw-imapd to dovecot

We recently switch from up-imapd to dovecot But many users are reporting that they cannot access certain mail folders. The log file has: imap(dws): Sep 14 00:06:19 Error: File isn't in mbox format: /home/research/dws/mail/TaskDL The files in the logs are "MBX mail folders", not "ASCII English text" as are the folders that can be read under Outlook. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? This is a serious problem in switching. I've read the FAQ and documentation but it doesn't speak to this specific problem. [Dovecot] Pop get all maildir subfolder

Hi, I'm just starting using dovecot, and find it powerfull and really fast, and have a so configuration, It's just making me happy :) (after tests, and test, and tests). So thanks you for the great job. I've got a question : POP get all my mail in all my maildir subfolder. I find it great and was searching for a pop daemon doing that (and discoved it accidentaly). Hi, I've been using Dovecot successfully for a while and I've recently encountered an issue : I got to work today and half the emails, were deleted... and after careful investigation : - On Monday it seems, the emails magically vanished .. (what I've been told) - My backup from Tuesday morning at 3am, indicates that all the files (mailbox) are intact but the subscription file is missing half the entries. - At noon, on Tuesday, half the subscriptions are still missing and half the files now also missing. Any ideas, known issues, suggestions? Details : # dovecot --version 1.0.beta9 # uname -a NetBSD Z 3.0.1 NetBSD 3.0.1 (GENERIC.MPACPI) #0: Fri Aug 18 08:34:05 EDT 2006 m@Z:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC.MPACPI i386 the server in question is usually just idling away... and nothing abnormal in my logs thanks for your time, Martin

[Dovecot] Quota plugin API documentation ?

What is the best reference for the quota plugin API ? I have some code that can return the disk quota from AFS that I would like to add to the existing file system quota plugin (or perhaps create a new plugin) but I am having a hard time deciphering what each function should return and the data formats (e.g. kilobytes versus bytes). Any pointers are appreciated. --Craig

Olá, estou com um problema que é o seguinte: Tenho uma rede com 400 pessoas, estas possuem cada uma seu e-mail. Quando recebo muitos e-mails ao mesmo tempo meu Dovecot para. Ele continua em execução porém não responde mais, então tenho que reiniciar o serviço. Alguêm pode me ajudar neste problema ?
