[Dovecot] Maildir++ Unlimited Quota.

Does this Maildir++ implementation have an "unlimited" quota? It looks like all of the other Maildir++ software uses "0" for this ... it doesn't seem to work on Dovecot. Steve

Hi, i'm having a weird message connecting to an account using IMAP + TLS from thunderbird (evolution works great, so does SSL in thunderbird, haven't tested anywhere else yet): "You cannot login to <domain> because the server has disabled login. You may need to connect via SSL or TLS. Please check..." in auth.log all i have is: "imap-login: Aborted login: rip=<my ip>, lip=<server ip> Any thoughts? -- João Inácio http://www.jcinacio.com

I haven't been able to find what is responsible for altering the time on APPENDed mail, but was able to come up with a temporary workaround ... simply calling utime() later on in the process resolves it. [Dovecot] Does NIS/yp work for authentication

If a host is running NIS (passwd file ends in +::0:0:::) authentication, will dovecot be able to authenticate with auth_userdb = passwd directly and automagically or do you have to do a ypcat passwd > pwfile periodically to generate a passwd file that dovecot can use? ? [Dovecot] Connection closed by foreign host.

I'm writing this on behalf of someone else... They successfully setup Dovecot, and can login to Dovecot using telnet but as soon as they are logged in, they get the message "Connection closed by foreign host" and are disconnected. The user is a valid Linux user and the mail file exists under /var/mail. They say no errors are written to /var/log/maillog. # telnet localhost 110 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost.localdomain (127.0.0.1). Escape character is '^]'. +OK dovecot ready. USER mymailuser +OK PASS 123456 +OK Logged in. Connection closed by foreign host. # Can anyone give me ideas where we would begin troubleshooting this? Many thanks, Steve :)

Sorry, sent my message (below) to the wrong guy. Dovecot-lda does a pretty good job of implementing the code to support sieve filters. My note was a testimonial to that fact. Just follow the Dovecot wiki instructions. [Dovecot] LDA Plugin Maybe?

I was just looking into setting up DSPAM, with the Dovecot LDA. Essentially, what I was probably going to do, was use DSPAM as the Delivery agent, after postfix, and then have it pass it off to dovecot, or something along those lines. I just had an idea, if we start using libdspam, in the dspam plugin, or one of the other suggested methods, we could have a similar plugin in the LDA, so that if it's marked as spam, deliver it straight into the Spam folder! Also, with Sieve, can we make it create a folder if the folder doesn't exist, and can it modify the subscriptions file? Thanks Tim -- Linux Counter user #273956

Hello everybody! I was searching around for an solution of my problem what surely is just a little thing, but nothing helped me out. Here the error in the mail.log: pop3(contact(a)maddy.cc): Failed to create storage with data: /var/vmail/maddy.cc/contact/ pop3-login: Login: contact(a)maddy.cc [84.4.228.150] dovecot: child 30083 (pop3) returned error 89 Who has to be the owner/group for /var/vmail/maddy.cc and /contact ? Because i have the user 'virtual' who manages the maildirs and the accounts (via PostgreSQL) and the user dovecot, but i tried already different scenarios with both and still no success. Do you still have some hints what i do wrong? Have you an idea what is happen here?
