when I enabled quota plugin the following error occured : net_connect_unix(/usr/local/var/run/dovecot/dict-server) failed: Permission denied Any ideas? My config are as follows : .. dict { #quota = mysql:/etc/dovecot-dict-quota.conf quotadict = mysql:/usr/local/etc/dovecot-dict-quota.conf } .. quota = dict:storage=81920:messages=5000 proxy::quotadict /usr/local/etc/dovecot-dict-quota.conf: connect = host=xxxxx dbname=xxxxx user=xxxxx password=xxxxx table = quota select_field = current where_field = path username_field = username ----- I can connect to the database thru mysql prompt. dovecot version 1.0 rc5 -- azhar --

[Dovecot] quota warning

Hi, As suggested by Timo, I have tried to implement some warning when the user gets close to his quota limit. The patch is attached. It is configured in the plugin section of the configuration file: quota_warning = 80:0:/usr/local/bin/quota_warning.sh With this one, /usr/local/bin/quota_warning.sh is executed each time a mail brings the total size from below 80% to 80% or above. The second number serves as a limit for the count. The /usr/local/bin/quota_warning.sh script builds the warning message and delivers it with cat << EOF | /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver -c /etc/dovecot-nowarning.conf where /etc/dovecot-nowarning.conf is the same as my normal configuration file, except that it lacks the quota warning option (that is required in a situation where the warning message is large enough to bring over the 80% limit, to avoid a warning loop). Hi, I just tried the below with the current version 1.0 RC15 and I still got the Problem: telnet gives me the following output: -----8<-----8<-----8<-----SNIP-----8<-----8<-----8<----- +OK dovecot ready.u-ERR invalid command u s-ERR invalid command s e-ERR invalid command e r-ERR invalid command r -ERR invalid command u-ERR invalid command u s-ERR invalid command s e-ERR invalid command e r-ERR invalid command r _-ERR invalid command _ 1-ERR invalid command 1 -ERR invalid command -----8<-----8<-----8<-----SNIP-----8<-----8<-----8<----- The above output results from the following entry: user user_1[ENTER] So now I know that this is no version issue. Can you tell me something on how I can find the solution for this problem? I don't think its a firewall issue, I disabled my Desktop Firewall. On the server I use shorewall, but of course, port 110 is open and it works disabling AntiVir on the client side. The error also occurs when I disable the Server Firewall as well. The error is reproducible on several PCs (I tried 3 PCs). Have you got any hint? Without solving the problem, I have to switch the pop3 server to another one, because this problem is really a crucial one.The only problem is: I loke dovecot. :) Thanks in advance! When I configure my dovecot server to do just plain pop3 I can telnet from a windows box without any flaw, but as soon as the client uses some pop3 proxy (for example outlook uses avira antivir Mail-AntiVirus Protection), queries to that server fail. A log line looks like this: pop3-login: Dec 05 22:53:24 Info: Disconnected [::ffff:84.165.54.42] Moreover with the proxy activated, a telnet to port 110 (pop3) is not working properly, the cursor stays right behind "+OK dovecot ready." and as soon as I enter a character, the server rejects this character as an unknown command (Without pressing ENTER). As soon as I turn off the Antivir-Proxy the telnet to port 110 runs flawlessly and I can login. So I'd like to know is there anything I can do with this version or is it worth trying the newest version? Is this a known issue? Hi, I'm using Postfix/LDAP with virtual domains and Dovecot 1.0rc15 as LDA with sieve plugin. The sieve plugin works fine except vacation. How can I increase the log level of deliver to see what's the matter ? [Dovecot] Replacing qmail + vpopmail with: sendmail + dovecot

Hi, I wonder if it posible to replace qmail + vpopmail with sendmail + dovecot? The idea is like this: - use sendmail + milter API to filter spam/virus and deliver the email to the dovevot MDA (LDA) - dovecot should save the email to the directory as specified in the vpopmail DB - maintain the vpopmail BD (users + passwd) - use dovecot pop3/imap for the clients - use sendmail again to receive the email from the pop3/imap users and deliver the email to the internet as usual. [Dovecot] Help with mysql-dspam-plugin

Hello folks -- I'm using Debian etch and I've got Mysql 5.0, Dovecot 1.0rc15 and DSpam 3.6.8... I've downloaded the mysql-dspam-plugin code, and it builds without errors. But when trying to start Dovecot I get: Starting mail server: dovecotIEffective uid=65534, gid=65534 ILoading modules from directory: /usr/lib/dovecot/modules/imap Emodule /usr/lib/dovecot/modules/imap/lib_dspam.so: dlsym(dspam_init) failed: /usr/lib/dovecot/modules/imap/lib_dspam.so: undefined symbol: dspam_init Error: imap dump-capability process returned 89 Any help with how to fix this would be great! Running rc24 and with one user in particular they are getting "(auth) killed with signal 11" when trying to pop email. IMAP works. What causes this?

[Dovecot] Still issues with new message count...

I am still having issues with new message count. When I move a message to another folder, it counts that message as new until you go into that folder. Is there a way I can solve this? Could it have something to do with NFS? I have tried all the NF workarounds with no luck... I have also tried NFSv3 and NFSv4, no difference. I store the indexes on the local drive...
