Hi, are there any known issues with symlinked-shared-mailboxes and kmail? I use virtual users (LDAP), so there are no unix-permissions related problems here: all mailboxes are owned by the local user vmail. Each user maildir has some symlinks to shared mailboxes. This works fine if I use squirrelmail as a MUA. kmail instead seems to have some problems: if I save a mail into the shared-folder, the other users are seeing this new mail almost immediately. But if I delete(!) a mail from the shared-folder, the list of the other kmails remains untouch. Refreshing does nothing. I have to close kmail and restart. Is this related to some sort of wrong config of the shared mailboxes or is this a (known) dovecot <-> kmail problem? -- Wilhelm

[Dovecot] maildirfolder is created world-writeable

If I create a new folder using a mail client (eg. kmail/OE), the maildirfolder file is created world-writable. The box had filesystem issues a month ago. I sucessufly fscked it. Do you think its a hidden fs problem or a dovecot issue? [Dovecot] Dict quota negative values in MySql table?

Hi! I have a question about the dictionary quota :storage and :messages values in MySql quota table. How to interpret the following values? Why some values are negative? Are the values relative to something? [Dovecot] Shared mailboxes support status

Hello Timo, I'm running dovecot-1.1.8 and I'm about to play with namespaces and shared mailboxes. I've read on the list that the Kolab people did contribute to that, and I read at http://dovecot.org/doc/NEWS-1.2 "+ Full support for shared mailboxes and IMAP ACL extension." I'd like to know the differences between shared mailboxes support between 1.1. and 1.2 branches and if it may be considered "safe" to use shared mailboxes on a production server running 1.1.8+ dovecot version (i.e. is it working and how, compared to the upcoming 1.2 release). I guess part of the answer is in the diffences between shared and public namespaces handling. [Dovecot] get maildir current quota usage from external program

Hello, i want to get the maildir current quota usage of an user, but i'd know what is the better way to do. in imap clients my quota usage, in example, show: 505KB, but if i sum only the size of each message from Maildir, i get total: 440KB, trying to use real and apparent block size but the sum differs from value showed in imap client. is quota usage based on why, have another way to do this? thanks

[Dovecot] Postfix and Dovecot

Hi Everybody, I'm mount two failover servers which use Postfix and Dovecot but the hostname of the machines r diferent: first node # uname -n # mail secound node #uname -n #mail2 So far so good, the real problem is that the e-mail file name on server is like this: 1232449377.P31789Q0M963611.mail2 and when I using the server called mail the file stay like this: 1232449377.P31789Q0M963611.mail I'm using drbd disk for the mailboxes and when I'm using the server called mail the files with mail2 on the end is not read for the dovecot when the user turn on the mail client but if I change the end from mail2 to mail that's ok the dovecot can read. How can I make dovecot read both files or any name on the end? [Dovecot] Dovecot upgrade broke per-user Sieve scripts

Hi all, I'm migrating my private mail server from Dovecot 1.0.10 to Dovecot 1.1.4 (both the latest package in Ubuntu Hardy and Intrepid, resp.). I'm using Postfix with Postfixadmin virtual users , passing mail to Dspam, which in turn passes email to the Dovecot LDA. The relevant configuration section is attached below. When running on the old version of Dovecot, the LDA correctly executed either the user's personal sieverc script, or the global sieverc, as expected. However, after the upgrade to 1.1.4, Dovecot will not execute any per-user Sieve scripts, although the configuration and file permissions hasn't changed. I've added debug logging to Dovecot, and the relevant portions of the log file are also attached below. What am I missing here? Why can't cmusieve find the user's script? Did the configuration for Sieve change? I've read and re-read the Dovecot wiki page for Sieve, and I can't see why my configuration should be causing any troubles. All help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
