[Dovecot] expire tool - individual user/folder?

Hello, is the expire plugin usable to delete mails with different settings for each individual user? If i view sample config at http://wiki.dovecot.org/Plugins/Expire it looks like expire-data are related to foldernames. Is it possible to let each user "activate" the expire-plugin for different folders with different settings? Thanks, Andre

Postfix 2.5.5 SpamAssassin 3.2.5 (under Perl 5.10.0) ClamAV 0.95.1 Dovecot 1.2.rc2 works fine on Fedora 10. Installed Dovecot and ClamAV from source and everything else using yum. I'm using the ClamAV plugin for Spamassassin: http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/ClamAVPlugin I'm calling Spamassassin with: /etc/postfix/main.cf: mailbox_command = /usr/bin/spamc -f -e /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/deliver Postfix hands off to Spamassassin, which processes ALL mail (not just attachments) through the ClamAV plugin before parsing for spam, and then hands the whole mess off to Dovecot for 'deliver' to handle. How simple is that? Since ClamAV scanns all mail, it might be too processor-intensive for really large mail systems, but it is working great for our 120+ user system with lots of spam coming in. If you're using Procmail or some other preprocessor that can hand off to a pipe, then you could skip the plugin and pipe messages over a certain size (i.e. >1024) to clamd, instead. Enjoy! James

[Dovecot] Feature Missing OUTBOX Folder

Hi Dovecot People, i have switched my system from courier-imap to dovecot and iam quite happy with it, the performance is well and i had nearly no problems. One little feature iam missing is in Courier i had a folder called "Outbox" there i could paste mails which i want to sent out. In some networks its not always available to sent mails via port 21, i know i could just set up my email server to another port but it was a nice feature. Is this a big afford or is it just alittle hack ? could it done via a little plugin ? Thanks Timo & all others for the great work ! Frank

Hi all, Currently I am developing some changes on the solr plugin. I want this plugin indexing also the attachment's content. I have already started to look on plugin's source but I am having some problems understanding how it works. I didn't understood yet what is the plugin's design and how the plugins are called from the core system and I was wondering if anyone could help me with that. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, I'm trying libsieve (853:42e154b8792e) to cope with our current installation, the following issues arise: 1) vacation addresses are compared case-sensitivly, e.g.: vacation :addresses [ "Steffen.Kaiser(a)example.com" ] ""; it won't match "steffen.kaiser@...". attached patch makes a first shot about that problem, leaving: 1a) maybe one should lower-case :addresses argument at compile time and my_address at run-time and then use strcmp() again. 1b) duplicate checks are case-sensitive, too. This is probably no big issue, because if the same person uses different variants of his/her mail address for sending, s/he does not deserve better. 1c) Suppression of replies to own mails are case-sensitive, too. Well, many people I know test that "it just works" by sending themselves a mail. I would disable this check. 2) we have about 157 ways to write the domain part. Not all accounts are available in all of them, but it's close to it. The old vacation program we used prior to "cmusieve" didn't care about the domain unless explicitly given. It was quite painful. Attached patch adds a "domainless" variant of :addresses arguments in such way, that vacation :addresses [ "Steffen.Kaiser" ] ""; matches any domain. Ideally, it would be better to specify all valid domains, but perhaps one can leave that for another approach with a different syntax, e.g. with "@*" as domain? Maybe, there is a better approach. Now there is possibility that common local parts are matched from alien domains easily. If to specify a set of "default" domains would be an option for libsieve, what is the suggested way: - - as user-option via dovecot.conf? - - as admin-enforced Sieve-script that sets some internal variables? aka using the multi-script capability - - ??? 3) Because I try to migrate from cmusieve v1.0, I have a name issue with "imapflags". README sec "* Supports all extensions provided by the original CMUSieve plugin:" and sec "Implementation Status" explains that "imapflags" is available. This is not true entirly: "imapflags" is not, lib-sieve uses the name "imap4flags" as defined by RFC. So, it leaves me with two options: 3a) convert all user scripts and hack Horde-Ingo, or 3b) have libsieve accept the alias "imapflags" for the extension "imap4flags". Would it be worhtwhile for libsieve to implement aliases for extensions, so that they are available in require by more than one name? About Horde-Ingo, maybe they have an update to use "imap4flags", too, but it looks like that I upgrade Dovecot before Horde. Hello, dovecot-1.1.7 on FreeBSD 7.1. Usernames have dot in them (like uname.example for a user in example.com). in dovecot.conf I have: mail_location: maildir:/userhomes/maildirs/%d/%n/Maildir and for authentication: username_format: %Ln In the client, tried with CONE and Mail.app, I put the username as: uname.example(a)example.com So, the authentication works fine, as it extracts the uname.example from the uname.example(a)example.com supplied. Hi Timo, Hi list, I finally got along to test the current dovecot 1.2 with our Kolab Server. And I'm very excited to see all the cool ACL and shared name spaces stuff upstream, thanks a lot Timo! While using 1.1.13 and squat with local pine imap on Solaris 9 I had a random core dump today. I was doing a search in a maildir folder with about 2000 emails. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to reproduce it yet, but I wanted to send along the info anyways. Always reproducible pine vs dovecot-imap-mbox.gz scene has weird errors. - Initial message is OK: [Folder "SAVE.gz" opened with 211 messages READONLY] - Some mails at the end are listed correctly, others are listed with empty sender/size/subject (just numbering). - All mails have no bodies. Full header command produces total blank screen. Even before any error message. Error messages appear during navigation: [{localhost/imap/user="nil"}SAVE.gz : Missing IMAP reply key: )] [MAIL FOLDER "SAVE.gz" CLOSED DUE TO ACCESS ERROR] Seamonkey works with both mbox-es and mbox.gz-s.
