Quota-status service on Director

Hello, I'm trying to configure the quota-status service, but it seems I'm not successful with my director setup (2.2.9). Refer to server log for more information. But the director has not mounted the mailboxes of the users, that's what the backend dovecots are for (proxy=Y). So the quota-status query is not proxied to the dovecot backend server I would assume. Does that mean I have to start the quota-status service on the dovecot backend servers and access it from the Postfix server directly? Currently the Postfixes can only reach the directors, not the backend servers. Is it possible to use the quota-status service on the director? Thanks for any hints and help Michael

Hi. I finally decided it was really time to stop being lazy and really move away from gmail. After I have a server in my basement using power, etc. So I turned on the imap provided - and did not quite cry - it will have to do for now, but imap2 is wanting. A real server yes, but not Linux. (Using linux would require another server AND I would feel I am being lazy again). So, I downloaded dovecot-2.2.25 and tried to build. [Dovecot] Dovecot stops with "Fatal: kevent(): Invalid argument"

# 2.0.11: /usr/local/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: FreeBSD 8.2-STABLE amd64 Dovecot stops with the following logged: - master: Fatal: kevent(): Invalid argument I have found that a diff was created for "src/lib/ioloop-kqueue.c" for a similar issue: http://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2010-November/054855.html I have patched my system with this and haven't seen the problem since, but I don't know if this is a coincidence. Could you please explain if the diff should actually fix anything or just add some more logging in case it stops again? Best regards Henrik Larsson

Fatal error with IMAP MOVE from a shared mailbox to Trash folder

Hello everyone. I have a problem using Dovecot 2.2.26 with ACL plugin and deleting e-mails from a shared mailbox. My user doesn't have the "expunge" permission on the shared mailbox, but it has the "write-deleted" permission. So, when I delete a message from the shared mailbox using a client that implements the IMAP MOVE command, it tries to move the message to my Trash folder. Then the server closes the connection to the client (process aborted) and I get three lines in the log file with a backtrace and "Fatal" error. In this case the message doesn't get copied or moved from the shared folder and the client complaints. I found the same thing happens whenever I try to move anything between folders of the shared mailbox itself, while logged in with my user. I can move messages inside my own mailbox just fine. If I try the same operation from a client that uses the IMAP COPY + DELETE commands, no errors are logged and the outcome is as expected: the message gets copied from the shared folder to my Trash and gets the flag "\Deleted" set on the shared folder. I tested and reproduced the error with Thunderbird and Roundcube. The Apple Mail client uses IMAP COPY + DELETE, instead of IMAP MOVE, and no errors are reported. So I think it's related to the IMAP MOVE implementation on Dovecot server. Has anyone seen the same error? Any suggestions? Is this a Dovecot bug? --- Daniele Barresi

[Bug] Mailbox aliases still broken

Hi, about an year ago i was reporting a bug in mailbox aliases, which remains unfixed and unasnwered (probably totally ignored, don't understand why). I thought it was because the bug is old and already fixed but yesterday i upgraded to Dovecot 2.2.24 and problem persists. Hi, I use pass and userdb with dict protocol in a similar way: key passdb { key = passdb^MAuth-User: %u^MAuth-Pass: %w^MAuth-Protocol: %s^MClient-IP: %r format = json } (^M is an \r character, inserted with vi CTRL-v + enter) Until 2.2.24 this has worked, but 2.2.25 seems to convert that ASCII 13 into an ASCII 1 and an "r". Python printout from what I get with 2.2.25: 'Lshared/passdb\x01rAuth-User: user\x01rAuth-Pass: pass\x01rAuth-Protocol: pop3\x01rClient-IP: 1.2.3.4' Is this change intentional? Why?

Sieve Script Replication Gliches (Report #2)

Hi, I've observed some odd behaviour with dsync replication between two hosts, specifically to do with sieve script replication. In short, I have two hosts which replicate in a master-master type setup where almost all of the reads and writes happen to just one of the two hosts. They are both running 2.2.devel (9dc6403), which is close to the latest 2.2 -git . Pigeonhole is running master-0.4 . This is on x86_64 Gentoo. Normal mail replication between Maildir's for all users works fine, however it appears that something recently committed to the code has broken sieve script replication between the two. I am sure this did once work. Replication is via tcps: . Sieve scripts on the lesser-used host are not up to date by an order of days/weeks with the main host and they don't seem to re-replicate - even if the rules don't exist at all on the replica. The symptoms and effects look to be the same as this (unanswered) post from December: http://dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2015-December/102690.html I am not sure how to view the transaction log files, but I am seeing the same symptoms, ie no live replication, and on the lesser-used host almost all the scripts were old and some had the 1970 date on them. Even after forcing a [dsync replication replicate '*'] the scripts are not replicated. As it stands now there are no sieve scripts on one of the two members and the system seems unable to replicate by itself. Secondly, I am also seeing some doubled up outputs if I run 'doveadm sieve list -A': thunderstorm reuben # doveadm sieve list -A reuben rules ACTIVE liam rules ACTIVE kaylene rules ACTIVE reuben rules ACTIVE liam rules ACTIVE kaylene rules ACTIVE ...
