[Dovecot] patch for crash while FTS-searching through virtual mailbox

FTS-searching through a virtual mailbox crashes dovecot-2.1.15 when the FTS backend does not support lookup_multi. src/plugins/fts/fts-api.h says for fts_backend_lookup() that "The arrays in result must be initialized by caller." FTS backends can therefore assume that the arrays are initialized by their caller. However, fts_backend_lookup_multi() does not initialize the per-box arrays before calling the FTS backend’s lookup function. Hi all, In the sieve file require ["copy"]; redirect :copy "asdf(a)asd.pl"; emails with headers containing \n in non terminated " field like Cc: xxx <xxx(a)plus.pl>, "asd, Grzegorz " <xxxxx(a)nsn.com> Subject: RE: RF after redirecting them Cc: xxx <xxx(a)plus.pl>, "asd,\ \ Grzegorz " <xxxxx(a)nsn.com> Subject: RE: RF mail delivered locally by dovecot-lda is unaltered lack of space before second \ brakes the headers. [Dovecot] Public free (libre) mailbox hosting service for everybody!

Hello e-mail software developers and users! I'd like to ask all of you a question. And of course hear relevant opinion. I've been using free software happily for a few years, and I found free/open source alternatives for many popular proprietary tools such as Facebook, Dropbox, Micro$oft Windows & Office, Youtube, Skype and many many others. Some of the alternatives are probably known to some of you, while others are still unknown to many. But I couldn't find a replacement to mailbox hosting. I'm using a Gmail mailbox and I hate it. So many free and open source mail servers and I still use Gmail, a closed-source service (which also probably tracks all my data, including Google searches I do, and uses it for all kinds of statistics and advertising, but that's another issue). So I asked myself, why is there no mailbox hosting service which respects user freedom? I sent an e-mail to the Free Software Foundation, and got a suggestion to ask all of you: do you know any free (libre) mail server out there? If you do, please inform me, and the whole free software community, developers and users. I couldn't find any. If nobody else finds any either, the plan is to start a new server. There are so many server tools and programs, like the ones you use and develop. It's just like hosting a Git repository or videos of pictures for the masses. We can do it with e-mail too. Q: Why don't I start my own personal server? A: I'm a programmer and I can do it - with some effort, but I can. The problem is not me. The problem is that all the non-programmer and non-technical users can't. And they shouldn't. We tech people can, and should, run such servers for everybody. For all users who want their basic freedoms respected. Another question to tech people: I'm not an expert in e-mail software, so I'm not really sure setting up a server is as easy as all other online services we get, such as Diaspora (facebook replacement), MediaGoblin (Youtube replacement), Gitorious (git repo hosting). Is there a technical issue preventing people from running a mail server, or it's just a matter of having enough money to run it, and the necessary technical skills (which many of you probably have). If it's possible, we'll do it. Also, if users had to pay for such a service, it would be okay. I don't mind paying for my free software stack. I'd actually find it a way to contribute back to the people and projects which deserve it. The point is not money; such a service can get funds. The point if FREEDOM. [Dovecot] Real-time sync using dsync

Hi, Can we use dsync to achieve *continuous* (real-time) sync between two servers (Mirror mode)? Running in such a "continuous" dsync mode, we would replicate two servers to one another continuously, so that the two would be concurrently available/accessible/useable (as POP3/IMAP servers), and getting synced in real time. Is this possible? (If yes, I think it would be much easier to setup such an architecture, rather that resorting to shared file systems, network-based storage etc.) Thanks, Nick

[Dovecot] IMAP folders sort order

Hi all We migrated our IMAP server from Courier to Dovecot. The minor problem appeared: Dovecot LIST command now shows mailbox listing in some weird order. (I suppose, it is filesystem directory order) Previously, with Courier, it was sorted, i.e., the INBOX was the first, followed by other system folders. This is not a problem with our webmail, because it sorts folders by its own. But with some IMAP clients, we have folders intermixed. Is there a way to influence the folder sort order in Dovecot? Hello, I'm trying to use dsync to copy mail from one server to a newer one, so I'm using imapc as source (when running dsync in the destination server). The command I'm using is like this: sudo dsync -vD -o imapc_user="<myuser>*master" -o imapc_password="<master pass>" -o imapc_host=<original server> -o imapc_features=rfc822.size -o mailbox_list_index=no backup -R -f -u "<myuser>" imapc: This command is working. The problem I have is that I'm using lazy_expunge in the original server, and namespace used in the original server has the config: namespace { hidden = yes list = no location = maildir:~/Maildir/expunged prefix = BORRADOS. separator = . } so, it is not being synchronized. I have tried to synchronized from the original server instead of destination with: sudo dsync -vD -o imapc_user="<myuser>*master" -o imapc_password="<master pass>" -o imapc_host=<dest server> -o imapc_features=rfc822.size -o mailbox_list_index=no -o mail_location=maildir:<myuserhome>/Maildir/expunged backup -f -u "amateo" imapc: with this, no message is copied and I have errors like: dsync(<myuser>): Error: Mailbox Archives.2003_kk changed its GUID (e7fc0b2d831e1c51984d000029c62294 -> 7d325fb944b953993df5d27ce2ee786c) Any idea to copy messages in this namespace without needing to make it plubic? Is there any hidden option for dysnc? Could I use doveadm backup? How? (it seems that documentation for dsync and doveadm backup is not updated) -- Angel L. [Dovecot] Logs when moving mails

Hi, I have a problem with an older mailserver. We have an account where 10 Users use one IMAP Account to manage their work. Sometimes some of the emails seem to disappear. I think they are moved somewhere but I can´t tell it for sure. Is there a way to make dovecot logging any movement of emails (I would prefer doing it only for one account). This account is not a local user.
