Hey dovecot-users, we are running dovecot 1.2.15 and are seeing some odd errors in our logfiles: --- dovecot.log --- 2010-11-22 12:34:56 imapserver local2.warning dovecot dovecot: IMAP(username(a)domain.tld): Timeout leak: 0x4bd230 --- /dovecot.log --- Those errors only appear if connections are done using IMAP (via Horde's IMP Webmail). With POP3 we don't see any of those errors. We actually don't see anything in general being broken or wrong (no errors on the webmail machines, no user complaints), but these errors are constantly being logged. Where would one start to look for the cause? Thanks for your help, Regards Christian

[Dovecot] Confused about Maildir

I'm trying to configure Dovecot 2.0.7. In the Dovecot Wiki for Maildirs it says that Maildirs are almost always located in ~/Maildir. I'm a Linux end user, not a programmer, so I may be wrong in this; but isn't the notation "~/" used for system users only to reference their home page; /home/<user>? If that's the case, then does that mean that Maildirs can only be used with system users and not with vmail accounts? Glen

[Dovecot] dsync mbox->mdbox II: highest_modseq changed

Hi again, after replacing CRLF in 4 mboxes dsync was able to sync all of the 30+GB mailstore to mdbox. Now the (repeated) calling of dsync yields info messages of the kind dsync(athimm): Info: old/speicher: highest_modseq changed: 1 != 10 dsync(athimm): Info: root/root-heretic: highest_modseq changed: 1 != 10 dsync(athimm): Info: lists/ccrma.stanford.edu/planetccrma: highest_modseq changed: 11 != 14 I actually have 987 such messages for a total of 1115 mboxes. I checked a couple of them to see whether this is a CRLF issue and found no CRLF, so it's probably something different. As long as the mboxes were still being delivered to or read from I thought it was normal, but I'd like to see a silent dsync which would give me more confidence in the migration process. So I kept from delivering to the mbox store as well as reading from it and performed multiple dsyncs. The output of dsync became stable, e.g. the "highest_modseq changed" messages were exactly the same. Before nuking all indexes from the mbox storage and the mdbox itself and then repeating the whole process (which does take a long time), I wanted to know whether I should debug something. [Dovecot] lda sieve error using global after sieve script

Hi all, ok, so I've implemented an after sieve script with the following line in the plugins area : sieve_after = /home/mailboxes/sieve/to_spam_folder.sieve It seems to work ok on some accounts, but then I'm getting the following error in the deliver error log for many accounts : Error: sieve: script /home/mailboxes/sieve/to_spam_folder.sieve failed with unsuccessful implicit keep here is the script : require ["fileinto"]; # rule:[Spam and Virus Tag] if anyof (header :contains "Subject" "[VIRUS-TAG]", header :contains "Subject" "[SPAM-TAG]") { fileinto "Spam"; stop; } which is a very basic script that files stuff into the spam folder. I've checked some of the accounts, and the folder is there, and all appears to be ok... Hello, When upgrading Dovecot, I get this: Dovecot version mismatch: Master is v2.0.6, imap-login is v2.0.7 (if you don't care, set version_ignore=yes) This should not occur as version_ignore=yes is in dovecot.conf, at the top. Cheers, Olivier

Hello, I'm running revision 10622:de9d6dae7fe5 on AIX 5.3 with some local mods for our inbox hash function. I'm having a problem doing a "select inbox" when I use the mbox_snarf plugin. [Dovecot] Dovecot and user's quota

Hi, We are planning to use Dovecot-2.0.5 (Maildir format) as IMAP server. Currently, we are using Postfix+UW-Imap (mbox format) with the following configuration: - Postfix: Sends new messages to /var/mail/user - UW-IMAP: Reads mails from /var/mail/user and moves them to ~/nsmail/mbox Using that configuration, when a user overtakes his HOME’s quota, the MTA is still able to send new messages to the user, although he cannot read it until he frees HOME space. Can we configure Dovecot to work in the same way? I mean… 1)Postfix must use /var/mail partition for new mails. 2)Dovecot must move these mails to user’s HOME. 3)User’s HOME must be in Maildir format. If that is not possible, how can we achieve an equivalent solution? Thanks in advance. Oriol.
