I recently am attempting a mbox to Maildir conversion, initially for a single email address, and then for everyone. [Dovecot] Bug in QRESYNC SELECT/EXAMINE behavior

RFC 5162 [3.1] states that a QRESYNC should return all changes in a SELECT/EXAMINE since the given modseq. In the following case, it looks like there is an off-by-1 error somewhere: C: A64 SELECT "TestMailboxTest" (QRESYNC (1224531494 6 1,3:5)) [MMS: MODSEQ given is 6] S: * OK [CLOSED] S: * FLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Seen \Draft) S: * OK [PERMANENTFLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Seen \Draft \*)] Flags permitted. S: * 4 EXISTS S: * 0 RECENT S: * OK [UNSEEN 1] First unseen. S: * OK [UIDVALIDITY 1224531494] UIDs valid S: * OK [UIDNEXT 6] Predicted next UID S: * OK [HIGHESTMODSEQ 6] [MMS: HIGHESTMODSEQ is 6 - the same as our cache, so there should be no need for an update] S: * 2 FETCH (MODSEQ (6) UID 3 FLAGS (\Deleted)) [MMS: ...but we get this FETCH that contains the MODSEQ ID of 6, which we have already told the server we are aware of] S: A64 OK [READ-WRITE] Select completed. In other words, I don't think that "2 FETCH ..." should be in the server response - it is duplicative information as to what is already cached on the client. michael

In dovecot.conf protocol imaps is set to port 10943. ssl_listen = *:10943 The standard port for imaps is 993. So why it is set to 10943?

Hi Timo, there is a bug in the acl plugin (in head, _without_ our acl changes), which causes an segfault on selecting a shared folder. * OK [CAPABILITY ...] Dovecot ready. x login 1(a)example.com secret x OK [CAPABILITY ...] Logged in y select "users/2(a)example.com/INBOX/bla" - Peer has closed the GNUTLS connection The dovecot.log shows a segfault: [...] child 4507 (imap) killed with signal 11 This _only_ happens when the shared mailbox wasn't accessed in the same session by any other means like MYRIGHTS or LSUB (when subscribed). After doing one of those selecting works too... The important part to note (and where I suspect your problem is) is that the folder, as far as your client (Thunderbird) is concerned, is "Maildir/", the "Maildir/ new/" directory is part of Maildir's internal format. That is to say, you should never be putting "Maildir/(new|cur|tmp)" as a mailbox name into a client, just "Maildir/". -N.

Hello Dovecot users, I have composed a release of the ManageSieve service for Dovecot v1.2. I also added two new capabilities that were added to the ManageSieve specification. Just like the last few releases, this new release supports the new Sieve plugin already. Change Log v0.11.0 ------------------- * Upgraded to Dovecot v1.2 * Added support for new ManageSieve capabilities RENAME and NOOP * Moved sieve settings to plugin {} section of config file. Now the settings `sieve` and `sieve_dir` in the plugin section are used for both the Sieve plugin and the ManageSieve service, avoiding the posibility of accidental differences in configuration. [Dovecot] mixed client ssl certs and non cert

How do I setup mixed authentication so that I can have say a couple of machines on my lan only use ssl without client certs, but have all the other machines connecting from remotely required to have ssl certs to connect to imap? This is with Dovecot 1.1.4 on CentOS 5.2 -- Harondel J. [Dovecot] logging IMAP username rather than UNIX username

Hi there I'd like to change my setup to log the _actual_ IMAP user's login, rather than the UNIX username. My system uses a virtual uid setup with qmail, where the mailboxes are owned by the 'vmail' user and authentication is via checkpassword using user%domain (ie email, just with % instead of @). So dovecot is recording _all_ logins as: imap-login: Login: user=<vmail>, method=PLAIN, rip=127.0.0.1, lip=127.0.0.1, secured I have the following log format specified: login_log_format_elements = user=<%u> method=%m rip=%r lip=%l %c I have also tried: login_log_format_elements = user=<%n@%d> method=%m rip=%r lip=%l %c However, this results in a log file entry of: imap-login: Login: user=<vmail@>, method=PLAIN, rip=127.0.0.1, lip=127.0.0.1, secured How do I configure dovecot to log the _actual_ username which the client supplies during authentication? [Dovecot] Dovecot returns the same UIDL for another message

Hello, I have a serious problem with dovecot and mbox format. dovecot returns the same UIDL for new messages and as result some MUAs don't retrieve new mail. UIDs returned by UIDL command look like 000000*1c*49006cec And there is a moment when dovecot stops incrementing marked digits. In other words when new message arrive to mbox, UIDL command returns used UID. I'll show with example: 1. Send some message and try to retrieve UIDL via telnet: # echo test-mailbox-1 | mail -s Test-1 mbox(a)cu.kiev.ua # telnet pop3.cu.kiev.ua 10110 Trying 193.108.130.4... Connected to emx.itcons.net.ua.
