[Dovecot] AIX: mntctl implementation for NFS quota support

Hi Timo, Hello list, I've played around with dovecot-1.1.1 on AIX to get quotas (especially NFS quotas) to work. I've found that dovecot doesn't implement handling of 'mntctl' and so it is unable to determine filesystem mountpoints on AIX correctly. Your'll find more information about 'mntctl' here: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/systems/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.a… Okay... I've added mntctl support to 'lib/mountpoint.c' today. My tests are looking good and so I'd like to share the patch. While I'm still not really familiar with dovecots memory management, I need someone who is familiar with it to have a look on my lines of code. Especially the usage or p_new, t_strconcat and p_free should be checked. :-) To activate the patch you have to add "#define HAVE_VMOUNT_H 1" do 'config.h'. Maybe someone wants to alter configure* to do this automatically? And of course Timo, if you find it useful, you may include the code in one of the next dovecot releases. [Dovecot] Moving from pysieved to native ManageSieve?

If moving from pysieved to Dovecot native ManageSieve implementation, should this just work or do I need to do anything with existing sieve filter rule files, etc? Any reasons not to do the switch? [Dovecot] "Errors" in logfile after upgrading to 1.1.1?

Not sure but I mean I didn't have these in the log file before the upgrade....: auth(default): passwd(user(a)domain.no): unknown user auth(default): prefetch(user(a)domain.no): passdb didn't return userdb entries, trying the next userdb Is there some config that is wrong or? btw, authentiation is working.... Maybe it'll bring luck to the release. :) - mbox: Fixed a crash when adding a new X-IMAPbase: header with keywords. - Message parser: Fixed assert-crash if cached MIME structure was broken. - Squat: Potential crashfix with mmap_disable=yes.

OK I've been struggling to get dumps from the live environment most of the day, but have given up. I've now managed to reproduce this using a fork-bomb type script; here is a backtrace (no debug version installed, but I suspect I could reproduce this in the dev environment if it's not clear what the error is). A word about our setup; we have the maildirs stored on an nfs mount and deliver could be called on multiple heads at the same time for deliveries - I suspect this is what was causing the problem. Our nfs mount options are rw,noatime,nodiratime,hard,intr,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,tcp,nocto. Running centos 5.1 on the boxes with exim. Thanks, Mark

Hi I configured Exim with dovecot LDA and added quota (dict/mysql). It works but it seems that dovecot is not reporting situation back to exim process - it looks like Exim returns OK(accepted) to smtp sender before the message is actually delivered - if the quota is exceeded then LDA drops the mail and sends DSN. [Dovecot] group ownership of new shared folders

Between versions 1.0.4 and 1.0.5 there were some changes to the way dovecot-shared group ownership is propogated into new maildirs. Changing the group of new_dir/{tmp,new,cur} was added, but changing the group of new_dir itself was removed. As far as I can tell, this latter change may have been accidental. [Dovecot] No log for hitting login_max_processes_count?

I think today just due to increased use, my mail servers hit login_max_processes_count. It wasn't obvious what was happening, logins just weren't acting like they should and sometimes would get disconnected before given a prompt from the server. Something made me think to check if I had too many of certain dovecot processes and I found I had 128 imap-login processes on both servers, but nothing in the logs seemed to point that out for me. Should there be? It would have been alot easier to debug. Also, this seems to be from general use, doesn't seem like a DoS, so is this just a setting I should keep an eye on and increase it by reasonable amounts as needed? Thanks.
