replication flag default setting?

Hello. I'm playing with dovecot replication. I have a working replication config on a test server and would like to copy that to production but i don't know what's going to happen with existing accounts. Will they automatically start replicating without any further input from me? Is there a flag on the account somewhere that can tell me what the replication status is? I'm running dovecot --version 2.3.11.3 (502c39af9) I'm setting up folder sharing. Following https://wiki.dovecot.org/SharedMailboxes/Shared I've configured a folder to be shared, but it's not seen/accessible in the target user's Mail folder tree. Hi Everybody, I'd like to start archiving e-mails by moving them to a server with running Dovecot. I installed "dovecot-core" and "dovecot-imapd" (version 2.3.4.1) on Debian 10. One of a few configurations I made is to use Maildir: # grep '^mail_location = ' /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-mail.conf mail_location = maildir:~/Maildir I successfully moved some e-mails (at this moment it's just a test) to subfolders that describe a year of the backup. I'd like to start using git on the whole Maildir. After going through the Maildir directory and subdirectories I realized that Dovecot saves some extra files that I might not need to backup (version control). Based on my understanding and after reading https://wiki.dovecot.org/IndexFiles I believe that the only files I need to archive are files in "cur/" directory and these files should start with Unix time. I have clients that process personal data and they even need to have 'special' processing agreements with companies like wetransfer and outlook.com. I had to sign also such agreement and prepare a vm for hot/cold data encryption for processing personal data. If someone leaves a voice mail message, he does not expect that this is going to be send to a third party. I think this expectation causes the gdpr 'by default' highest privacy/security of personal data protection to be applicable. Lots of companies are being fined currently for breaching gdpr, small, large, international even nation governmental organisations. Once the Voice message is received, it may get Transcribed. The message can be further be processed and more information can be added to the message later. The original plan was to Modify the email and add New information as attachments to same message. As I understood, messages stored in Dovecot are immutable. Hello! I've started seeing intermittent dsync failures since upgrading Dovecot to 2.3.11.3-3 (CentOS 8 using the official Dovecot repo). Sep 27 17:49:04 host dovecot[130]: dsync-local(user@host)<5GWFD2CmcF+TJwAAsNnMGQ>: Warning: Failed to do incremental sync for mailbox INBOX, retry with a full sync (Modseq 66543 no longer in transaction log (highest=66547, last_common_uid=46346, nextuid=46347)) Sep 27 17:49:04 host dovecot[130]: dsync-local(user@host)<5GWFD2CmcF+TJwAAsNnMGQ>: Error: Remote command returned error 75: ssh <options> doveadm dsync-server -u user@host It seems to happen at random times to random users. My setup has 2 servers - users are connecting to the main server and the secondary server is just for backup - noone is actually connecting to it. Any suggestions? Thanks! Reio
