I just noticed this error in my logs: director: Error: doveadm not compatible with this server (mixed old and new binaries?) director: Error: director(10.161.192.28:541/right): Wrong protocol in socket (director-doveadm vs director) The first error I removed by changing director_doveadm_port = 541 to director_doveadm_port = 542 Not really sure why that fixed it. The second error I don't know how to clear. I found this thread, http://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2010-July/051022.html but it didn't work for me. This is scenario that cause segmentation fault in my Dovecot. Maybe I do something wrong, but I don't know what... We run: mailbox_delete mailbox_delete do: mailbox_open(box) < 0 and after we have: box->v.delete(box) which run index_storage_mailbox_delete index_storage_mailbox_delete do: mailbox_close(box); and now mailbox is closed (this close box->view and mailbox open) Try to delete folder, but can't do this... example becaus it is system folder, or NFS failure... set error message and return -1. Now we are returning to mailbox_delete. I have successfully implemented the global quota as well as per user quota using ldap for storing per user quota. Now i am trying to send warning message when user exceed quota limit of 80% and 95% but unable to implement the same. I'm a little confused about how public namespaces work with subscriptions. If I set subscriptions=no and subscribe to the folders, the subscription entries go into the user's private subscription file and that's fine. However, I am unable to pull their status with the LIST-EXTENDED extension. Hello, if new mails arrive, the quota information is updated and reported via imap immediately. However, after deleting a message, nothing happens. Even if I delete all messages and the mailbox e.g. was over quota, new mails won´t be accepted because the mailbox is over quota. [Dovecot] LDAP acl_groups - can multivalue LDAP be used

Hi, Is there some kind of way to get acl_groups out of LDAP without having to maintain an entry with a list of groups 'a,b,c' and so on? Our groups have a list of 'member' attributes with CNs pointing at users. Ideally there would be a way to look this up directly. Alternately I could perhaps use an OpenLDAP overlay to show 'group' attributes for each user's ldap entry. I would then like to be able to tell it to get all 'group' attributes and comma-separate them. The best option I've seen so far is something like http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2010-March/047731.html which seems to involve a completely separate LDAP session from a login script. I am running dovecot 1.2.12 on Free BSD 8.1. We also have postfix and a version of squirrelmail for the UI. We are using MySql database to store the email account info. I wrote a script to insert about 100K users into mysql. Those accounts seem to work well and I'm able to see things like 'Drafts', 'Trash' and 'Sent'. Now I am working on code to create new accounts - one at a time. The accounts get created and I can send and receive email from them but when I go go Drafts, Sent or Trash I get an error that says: ERROR: Could not complete request. Query: SELECT "INBOX.Drafts" Reason Given: Mailbox doesn't exist: INBOX.Drafts When I go out and look at the mailbox folders for these users I only see "cur", "new", and "tmp" whereas on other accounts that work well I also see things like INBOX.Drafts etc. I have examined the sql that is inserting the accounts in bulk versus the one by one case and can not see any differences (other than a new mailbox name/password etc). Everything that I'm reading online indicates that Dovecot should just create these extra folders on the server and there is really nothing for either an admin or a user to do. I'm trying to understand the limits to Dovecot (if there are any) regarding maildirs/indexes max size. Reading in the documentation i didn't found anything concerning this issue. Hello, I installed new mail server postfix + dovecot with beckend in postgresql. But when users not deleted mail from server then received all mails from maildir a few everyday..In dovecot logs I can't see any problem. He use outlook or thunderbird with pop3. Hi, I have Dovecot listening on both IPv4 and IPv6, and can connect on both interfaces, but cannot authenticate over IPv6, using exactly the same credentials as IPv4. I assumed that the same authentication mechanisms would be used, regardless of the protocol being used - are there differences somewhere? Hello, I cannot run FTS SOLR engine. OS is debian lenny. I re-compiled debian package (from backports) with --with-solr option. Dovecot loads fts_solr plugin. I know that it loads plugin because if I remove lib21_fts_solr_plugin.so, dovecot does not start. But it does not attempt to communicate with SOLR. Simple check: stop solr tomcat, and open 8080 port in netcat: $nc -l -p 8080 dovecot never tries to connect to 8080 when I search message by IMAP. I removed indexes, it did not help. [Dovecot] Problem with excel and word attachements ?

Hello We are in (random) troubles with some emails that contains word and excel attachements ( others attachements are OK ) I don't really think Dovecot is implied in this trouble but I want to be sure ... The problem is users cannot open attachements from their clients ( thunderbird 3.1 ) it stays in "download" mode until timeout. Maybe there is a Dovecot's workaround to solve that boring problem ? Hi there! Im using a dovecot system in combination with postfix(with dovecot lda) and ldap. Till today it ran well, but before switching to live, i did some system updates and at the reboot following message occured: Starting IMAP/POP3 mail server: dovecoUnexpected first line <localhost: timed out, nothing received> (First it says: "Starting IMAP/POP3 mail server: dovecot ", but then something fails and overrides the "t" of dovecot with "Unexpected.... ") I don't know when this error occured first, but it only goes away if i delete dovecot from autostart at bootup (by renaming dovecot-file in /etc/rc2.d/ ) No error shown in /var/log/mail.* or syslog Apart from showing this message, system is running perfectly. Users can login, receive their mail and produce new mail-traffic with postfix ;) ATM i really dont know what to do, im near switching to live status of this system and that message is annoying me. Didnt find any information on the net. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a simple mailing list manager that plays well with a Postfix/Dovecot setup, with virtual domains? It really just has to be very simple, basically, an alias would work, if I could rewrite the sender address/name, and I don't really need the possibility for users to subscribe via e-mail based commands. Hello all. I am reading the mailinglist for a long time now, and there was a thread i believe called webgui or something. In this thread there was a company i believe german, that was working on a dovecot appliance with a web based gui to administrate a dovecot mail server. The problem is i did not save the URL of that company. Does anyone know which company make the appliance. Or does anyone knows a good webbased tool for dovecot. The reason is that in a windows environment, with only a few FreeBSD machine's , my collega's get frustrated if they can not use a mouse. They even want a mouse on there smartphone's :D I am doing the administration of the mail server, but when i am not there, it would be nice if they can do things them selves. thanks for your time. regards, Johan Hendriks

[Dovecot] Upgrading from 1.2.8 to 2.0.6: INBOX not selectable in Thubderbird (greyed and italic)

I recently upgraded from 1.2.8 to 2.0.6, I am using Maildir, and Thunderbird is showing the INBOX grayed out and in italics, and does not show new messages in it (it shows messages previously downloaded). This occurs when Thunderbird is restarted (if I upgrade dovecot, TB keeps working fine until I shut it down, and at next startup it greys out the inbox). All the subfolders of INBOX work fine. Accessing with horde+imp webmail works fine. I'm using TB 3.1.6 After some traffic capturing, The first difference I see in the IMAP exchange is the answer to 6 list "" "INBOX" Which for 1.2.8 is: LIST (\HasChildren) "." "INBOX" and for 2.0.6 is: LIST (\Noselect \HasChildren) "." "INBOX" Of course for the same user and same maildir. I enabled tb-extra-mailbox-sep in 2.0, but it doesn't appear to differ (I don't really think it should). Any help will be very much appreciated. My 1.2.8 config for the namespaces is: namespace private { prefix = INBOX. inbox = yes location = maildir:~/Maildir } namespace public { prefix = shared. location = maildir:/usr/local/shared list = yes subscriptions = no } And the config for 2.0.6 is the same with new syntax: namespace { type = private prefix = INBOX. inbox = yes location = maildir:~/Maildir } namespace { type = public prefix = shared. location = maildir:/usr/local/shared list = yes subscriptions = no } Regards, Michele Bergonzoni

Hi all, I am in the middle of migrating from an old, Windows based mailserver, and have run into a small challenge I hope someone here can help me with. In my old setup, a user could have folders on the server, and by using his login with the mailbox appended, could pop a given folder specifically. For instance, logging in with user(a)example.com would pop INBOX, and logging in with user-folder(a)example.com would pop just that specific folder. Is it possible to do something like this in Dovecot, or is the only possible way of popping folders by using the virtual plugin? Hello Dovecot users, There haven't been that many Pigeonhole developments lately, not even really significant bugs were reported. That is why this release is pretty small in terms of changes. However, one issue got some attention: the fact that not recompiling Pigeonhole for Dovecot v2.0.3 would result in rather interesting message delivery. Normally, Dovecot would complain about a version mismatch, but unfortunately Pigeonhole's Sieve plugin didn't record the Dovecot version it was compiled with. Starting with this release, such problems should not occur again. Changelog v0.2.1: + Incorporated distinction between original and final envelope recipient in Sieve interpreter, as recently introduced in Dovecot. + Regex extension: added support for regex keys composed from variables. - LDA Sieve plugin: added _version symbol to enable Dovecot's plugin version check. Without this check, people can forget to recompile the plugin, which can lead to unexpected effects. - LDA Sieve plugin: turned debug message about an unconfigured home directory into a proper error and added script path information. - Fixed unnecessary reporting of dummy extensions in ManageSieve SIEVE capability; the comparator-i;octet and comparator-i;ascii-numeric 'extensions' were reported explicitly. Hello, with latest 2.0.6 (601065674f74), the following virtual mailbox is not behaving correctly. I'm quite sure that the problem has not existed in some earlier 2.0.x (maybe only INBOX as mailbox then though): ~user/Maildir/virtual/.week/dovecot-virtual contains INBOX INBOX.* -INBOX.Trash inthread refs younger 604800 This works as expected for the first time. But later on, also older messages/ threads are included until I delete the virtual/.week/dovecot.index*. Just made the leap from 1.2 to 2.0.6 - and several maddening config typos I think I have a working system again! Getting closer to converting from maildir to mdbox, but first... Trying to use dsync gives me: dsync(root): Fatal: Mail locations must use the same virtual mailbox hierarchy separator (specify separator for the default namespace) Ok - I 've never configured namespaces before...time to learn. Hi again, I just recognized that my dovecot forgets the quota for a mailbox. Is there a way to make quota_rule apply to subfolders? I've got some symlinked mailboxes which I want to exclude from quotas. This would work, but is verbose: quota_rule6 = USERS.aaa:ignore quota_rule7 = USERS.bbb:ignore ... quota_rule9999 = USERS.zzz:ignore But simply writing this: quota_rule7 = USERS:ignore doesn't apply to USERS.xxx and so on. The wiki says '*' isn't supported as a wildcard and frankly I'm struggling with the source code! Alle, We're running Dovecot V1.0.7 on RHEL5.5, using maildir. We would like to user per user quotas with an OpenLDAP (V2.3.43) backend. We have setup a default quota in /etc/dovecot.conf: quota = maildir:storage=10240:ignore=Trash And have the following userdb configs in /etc/doveconf.conf: userdb ldap { args = /etc/dovecot-ldap.conf } and the following user_attrs defined in /etc/dovecot-ldap.conf user_attrs = uidNumber=uid,gidNumber=gid,mailQuotaSize=quota=maildir:ignore=Trash:storage,mail_plugins The user's quota setting is: dn: uid=loadtest,ou=people,dc=subaru,dc=nao,dc=ac,dc=jp mailQuotaSize: 1024000 Dovecot-imap appear to recognize the quota from ldap, as the Thunderbird quota plugin reads the correct info from LDAP if the mailQuotaSize entry exists, and the default storage=10240 from doveconf.conf if there is no LDAP attr. [Dovecot] imap can't reconnect to auth-master after setuid

With service imap { client_limit = 5, service_count = 0 }, when the auth process crashes the existing imap processes cannot reconnect to the auth-master socket because they have long ago dropped root privileges. Is the right solution to this: (1) change the perms on the auth-master socket so processes running as vmail:vmail can connect to it, or (2) change the code so that multi-client imap processes stop accepting new clients when they notice an auth bounce? If (1), the wiki should be updated to mention this. Thanks.

When using the stats plugin for dovecot-2.0, UID commands that "continue" cause infinite recursion and crash. For example, "A22 UID FETCH 151 BODY[]" when the body is 3MB or so always crashes. Hi, I'm using dovecot as IMAP server. I access my mails trough Mail (Mac client), iPhone and webmail. In Mail I use a smartbox that shows all my unread messages, no matter where it is. I really want this feature at my iPhone, so I'm thinking about developing a plugin that will create the smart unread box and follow these rules: - Every new mail arrived, it will create a hard link to directory .smart.unread (in case of Maildir); - Every mark as unread, it will create a hard link; - Every mark as read, it will remove the hard link; - Every mail delete, it will remove all files with same inode. This way, a smartbox with all unread messages will be available into webmail, iPhone and every IMAP client. What do you think about it? Is there a simple way? If it is a cool feature, I'll develop it and post the plugin here. Regards, Marcelo

Is it considered 'safe' to delete directly from a dovecot Maildir? I mean things of the form: rm Maildir/cur/1288062016.M581217P9422.alpha,S=1873,W=1900:2,S The wiki tells me 'If you wish to modify them in any way, create a new message instead and expunge the old one. ' but it doesn't mention deleted files. Specifically I'm wondering what happens with: dovecot.index dovecot.index.cache dovecot.index.log dovecot-uidlist Since (http://wiki.dovecot.org/IndexFiles) tells me these files index each message is there a chance of Dovecot breaking badly if it can't find them? Is it intelligent enough to automatically update the above files when it finds a missing message file? Would simply deleting the 4 files be appropriate? I have users with 4 gig mailboxes so I really wouldn't want to be deleting those files in a script every night if its a long winded process to regenerate them. Thanks in advance for any help, Ian

I'd like to write post-login script using PHP. I noticed every shell post-login script ends with: exec "$@", which effectively executes dovecot's script-login. However, while I try to do the same (?) in PHP: $prog = $argv[1]; exec ("$prog"); it doesn't work. The client timeouts, dovecot (2.0.6) says "Disconnected for inactivity". May be I don't clearly see the way post-login scripting should work. Any hint to make it done? Regards, MU

I thought some people here would be interested: Recently SOGo added support for OpenChange, which means Outlook can natively access it via MAPI the same way as Exchange. Everything is open source, and the great thing about SOGo is that it uses existing IMAP server for mails rather than reimplementing yet another one itself. They seem to prefer Cyrus, but apparently Dovecot should work too. For non-mail (calendar, etc) it uses SQL, but I heard it's not too difficult to replace that either if someone would prefer some NoSQL database or something. http://www.sogo.nu/ http://www.openchange.org/

Hi! I noticed that this command ... : for USERNAME in ${USERS};do /usr/local/bin/doveadm -Dv expunge -u "${USERNAME}" mailbox sa.* SAVEDBEFORE 1d done ... does not expunge mails if ran from crontab. It shows in the Debug output what would have been done, but it doesn't really expunge those mails. This command runs daily, and every day the list of expunged mails (in the Debug output) just grows and grows, and the sa.* directories stay the same (except the new mails of course). However, if I run it from a terminal it really expunges the mails. Hi there, after migration we have a very big problem... there are two mailboxes in /var/mail/username/mailboxes/ /var/mail/username/mailboxes/inbox /var/mail/username/mailboxes/inbox2 i DO have to merge these boxes, but i found no tools for this step. is there any way with doveadm oder dsync to move alle messages from mdbox inbox2 into mdbox inbox? i hope you all can tell me a way to do this - its a very very big problem at the moment. By the way - logging in via imap with thunderbird und move them on that way is not my favorite solution cause i have to do this for hundreds of users... i hope you can help me! thanks a lot! I am migrating a couple old RH servers running sendmail and UW-IMAP to a new Ubuntu 10.04 servers running Postfix and Dovecot. I have everything working reasonably well except that the permissions of newly created mbox mail folders is always 600. I have reviewed the archives, google, and double checked everything is as suggested in the Dovecot Wiki / SharedMailboxes / Permissions. I am running Ubuntu 10.04 packages postfix 2.7.0-1, dovecot-common, dovecot-imapd, dovecot-pop3d, and dovecot-postfix (all version 1.2.9-1ubuntu6.1). I plan to install amavisd-new, et.al. for spam filtering and anti-virus but have held off until I get Postfix and Dovecot working 100%. I have configured Postfix and Dovecot to use mbox mailboxes. I chose mbox becaus I have a LOT of shared mbox folders to migrate and decided it best to first migrate to Postfix/Dovecot mbox and later worry about migrating to maildir (as suggested on the Dovecot wiki mailbox format page). I have configured private (also as default) and public namespaces with the public mailboxes stored in /var/mail/public. /var/mail/public has rwxrws--- and is group tarts (the shared "company" group for this server). Initially I had procmail configured via the mailbox_command. Initial test mail sent to user tarts triggered creation of /var/mail/tarts with 660 permissions as expected. I then changed the configuration to use deliver via the mailbox_command. I did this because procmail appears to be unmaintained and to benefit from deliver's support for indexing at time of delivery and seive. I then added user testuser with primary group testuser and supplemental group tarts. I made sure testuser's home directory and mail sub dir had rwxrws--- permissions. I sent test mail to user testuser and had both user tarts and user testuser create some subfolders in public (via Thunderbird accounts) THE PROBLEM is that mbox folders that hold messages are created with permssion 600. My understanding, from the Dovecot wiki and other docs/postings is that the folders should be 660 given the /var/mail permssions of rwxrwsrwt and ~/mail permssions of rwxrws--- MY QUESTION is how do I correct the configuration and/or directory permissions so that mbox folders and .imap indices (especially public/ ones) are created with 660 permissions thus allowing users who belong to a common group (eg tarts) to access the public mailboxes? It appears all Dovecot configuration options to establish directory/box perms or mask, such as umask, have been deprectated and no longer work. Because the parent directory was rwxr-xr-x root.root The problem is that for some reason dovecot then wedged and a lot of other stuff piled up behind it, causing people to complain their mail wasn't coming through. Load average climbed to over 100. Creating the user directories freed things up...

Hi Timo, looks like virtual plugin is broken now with my setup dovecot 2.0.6 cant say to which version it stopped working ( didnt tested it trough all ) but has worked i see nothing special in log why it stopped working it should show unseen mail i.e in folder Junk too with pop3 clients, but only shows new inbox mails after all i am confused what using better pop3_uidl_format = %08Xu%08Xv ( most Hello, I use Cyrus in my mailservers and I intend to migrate it to Dovecot. Cyrus has a setting that purge the emails from a mailbox under a pre-defined criteria. I'm trying to convert from an old Dovecot (1.0.15) and mbox to a new Dovecot and maildir. I'm running into several problems with dsync which are causing my mboxes not to convert. If I use LAYOUT=fs (as I'd prefer) I get an error because I have a mailbox called "subscriptions", and none of my messages convert. Is there a way to get dovecot to put its own metadata in dotfiles instead? [Dovecot] Recommendation for OCFS2 filesystem type

Hello When creating an OCFS2 filesystem, one can specify a "filesystem type" option: -T filesystem-type Specify how the filesystem is going to be used, so that mkfs.ocfs2 can chose optimal filesystem parameters for that use. The supported filesystem types are: mail Appropriate for file systems which will have many meta data updates. Creates a larger journal. datafiles Appropriate for file systems which will host a rela‐ tively small number of very large files. A small journal is selected. Cluster size will be at least 128K. Considering I'm using a separate partition for the dovecot indices, and that I'm using mdbox, would it be more appropriate to use 'datafiles' for the mail location partition and 'mail' just for the indices? Or would 'mail' be appropriate for both even with the larger files created by mdbox? Thanks, Andre

All subscriptions for folders in personal namespace use the "layout" separator (".") thought. LSUB "" "*" does not show the just subscribed folder, but it does after I manually change the entry to read shared.user.box Bug? Hello all. Thanks to the patience off Timo i finally got my shared folders working. I have one more question. Is it possible if you share the inbox, that all subfolders will be visable to. I can not see the subfolders of the shared inbox. This is not very useful if the user which shares his inbox, has sieve rules active that stores e-mail directly into subfolders. List, good afternoon, Dovecot and mail clients work fine. Several recent postings mention trying telnet to check this or that and, since I was considering using a spreadsheet plug-in to analyse some mail statistics by directly connecting to the server, I thought I'd try to test what the command sequence was that I might be able to use, and what message data was available (headers etc). We use only SSL-protected ports. Is it possible to manually login to dovecot when dovecot uses SSL-protected imap ports? I've tried telnet and the telnet localhost 993 login user pass resulted in connection closure, as I (think I) would expect because telnet doesn't use SSL (does it?). I checked man telnet and it described authentication options but when I tried telnet localhost 993 auth enable ? to check what auth protocols it allows, the connection closed. I tried SSH but it just 'hung' - presumably SSH expects an SSH server at the other end, not dovecot. Is it possible to manually login to a dovecot SSL imap port? regards, Ron

I'd like to add S=<size> and W=<vsize> to the filenames in my Maildir storage for newly delivered mails. But I cannot find where I can make Dovecot's LDA add those. In glibc 2.10 (32 bit) fallocate() exists but fallocate64() doesn't. When _FILE_OFFSET_BITS==64, fallocate() is a redirect to fallocate64() and the program can't be linked (fails to find symbol fallocate64). See http://bugzilla.redhat.com/500487 Attached patch detects fallocate() more robustly to guard against this problem. Cheers, Paul.

Then, I set allow_append_to_spam: yes At .config for Make dovecot-antispam. I set the plugin's name to: PLUGINNAME=isspam An then, I have another copy of the sources and .config with plugin's name set to: PLUGINNAME=nospam With this. If I put on dovecot.conf protocol imap { ... mail_plugins = isspam nospam ... } When I try to login, the connection is aborted and dovecot connection die with coredump Are there are any people with similar settings ? However, the antispam plugin module gets loaded by dovecot, but then nothing, i.e. when moving mail from Inbox to Spam and vice versa, I see nothing. [Dovecot] minimize mbox mdbox fragmentation

Hi Timo, Any chance the mbox/mdbox writer code could be modified to do physical preallocation on files to help avoid file(system) fragmentation? Constantly appending a file is the prime recipe for causing fragmentation, and mbox is notorious for this--not a fault of Dovecot but the nature of the mbox beast. Obviously maildir doesn't have such a problem, but some (many?) of us still prefer mbox for many reasons, fast full body search being one, portability being another. mdbox file fragmentation could benefit from such a change as well. I was having a discussion on the XFS list about this, trying to tweak XFS mount options to mitigate the fragmentation effects. Alas, there is no way to do this purely at the filesystem level. From Dave Chinner, one of the lead XFS devs: "What you want is _physical_ preallocation, not speculative preallocation. i.e. look up XFS_IOC_RESVSP or FIEMAP so your application does _permanent_ preallocate past EOF. Alternatively, the filesystem will avoid the truncation on close() if the file has the APPEND attribute set and the application is writing via O_APPEND... The filesystem cannot do everything for you. Sometimes the application has to help...." How great would the effort need to be to implement something like this? Would the return on investment be sufficient to justify doing this, in your eyes? -- Stan

Hi, I have a simple dovecot installation, version 1.2.12 of ubuntu 10.10. I also have a straightforward newbie question! I've hunted in the wiki and on the wider web, but not yet found a solution. Current status: I have successfully configured imap with tls, accessed on port 993, and for security require a valid client certificate to be presented, using ssl_require_client_cert and ssl_verify_client_cert. This is all working fine! Now I want to add a SquirrelMail service to the same server. This will connect using IMAP over port 143, without TLS. My question is: how do I achieve this! At the moment, I simply get the following in the logs: Aborted login (cert required, client didn't start TLS): method=PLAIN, rip=127.0.0.1, lip=127.0.0.1, secured If I comment out the "ssl_require_client_cert = yes" in the auth default section, SquirrelMail then works fine … but I can also connect remotely without presenting a valid certificate, which is no good! At the moment I have a single auth section in dovecot.conf, the "auth default { ... }" section. I wondered if I need a second section, which does not have the ssl requirement inside it. Is that right? If so, how do I link one auth section to the imaps service, and the other to the imap service (listening only on localhost)? In other words, I want "ssl_require_client_cert = yes" for remote connections (on port 993), but "ssl_require_client_cert = no" for local connections using non-tls imap on port 143. Is this possible? Hope that late-night explanation makes sense, and hope somebody can point me in the right direction, thanks in advance! -- Bill Gallafent.

[Dovecot] bug with null pointer

Hi, we found a serious bug while testing our migration scripts. in Solaris (or other system 5) the user variable is not always set. Dsync is not very happy about that and crashes with an segmentation fault. After hours of debugging and TWOE simple lines # USER=$LOGNAME # export USER the problem was solved! [Dovecot] allow_nets and local sockets

Hello, i am running dovevot 2.0.5 using ldap authentication with the allow_nets paramter to limit access to some local networks. The problem is, when i want to use the local lmtp socket from postfix *virtual_transport = lmtp:unix:private/dovecot-lmtp * i get the follwing error: *Oct 21 15:48:03 auth: Info: passdb(username): allow_nets check failed: Remote IP not known *When using the TCP socket with postfix *virtual_transport = lmtp:localhost:30025 *it is working. (i have 127.0.0.0/8 in the allow_nets list) Is there a way, other than using two different config sets to get this working together ? Something like disabling the address lookup on local passdb sockets ? Regards, Oliver

[Dovecot] Director and CRAM-MD5

Hello, i have a setup with two director servers pointing to two backends. I don't care that much for load balancing, my main goal is high availability. [Dovecot] Campo de quota en LDAP

En un principio, en los ldif que tenemos de los usuarios de prueba, tenemos el campo mailQuota. Sin embargo, si nos vamos a los schemas de qmail medianamente, con algo más de 3 años, se cambió mailQuota por mailQuotaSize y mailQuoatCount. Esto se debe entre otras cosas a que en la cabecera del fichero maildirsize del buzón, tenemos esta información, es decir, máximo tamaño ocupado y máximo número de mensajes. En el ldap de producción se sigue usando mailQuota? En el courier que tenemos montados aquí, misma versión y misma configuración que la existente en desbuz03, cuando no existe la quota del maildir directamente no da información sobre quota. ¿Estamos usando la quota de ldap? O al entregar un correo mediante Exim, se actualiza el fichero maildirsize con los valores de mailQuota. En este caso, podemos seguir con este comportamiento, o podemos utilizar la información que viene de ldap si no hay nada en el maildirsize.

We have custom plugins for squirrelmail which use thread orderedsubject, but according to capabilities dovecot only support thread by references algorithm. At present, we are using Courier with this capabilities (two algorithms are implemented). Could we use orderedsubject in dovecot?
