Hi to all, i migrate an imap server from courier-imap to dovecot 1.1.13. After the migration i have often this error in imap communication: * NO Mailbox is locked, will abort in 122 seconds * NO Mailbox is locked, will abort in 92 seconds * NO Mailbox is locked, will abort in 62 seconds * NO Mailbox is locked, will abort in 32 seconds I use maildir and all data are in nfs server. Would it be sensible/"cost effective" to make dovecot-deliver generated X-Delivered-To header(s) based on command line parameter(s)? [after striping such existing headers, before consulting sieve] I need it to: a) *clearly* mark POP/IMAP account fetched by fetchmail [with fetchmail using directly dovecot-deliver in --mda option] b) cleanly implement "shared mailboxes" with MTA such as sendmail that can be easily forced to generate "one header per one recipient" [AFAIK] -- [pl>en: Andrew] Andrzej Adam Filip : anfi(a)onet.eu Order and simplification are the first steps toward mastery of a subject -- the actual enemy is the unknown. -- Thomas Mann

[Dovecot] Multiple LDAP Userdb lookups

Hello one & all, I understand it is possible to do multiple lookups for userdb info of different types, for instance a local "real" account & virtual MySql lookups. Is it possible to do two separate ldap lookups to differnt parts of the same AD domain? I have a config file to do my authentication lookup against the domain. Then I have a 2nd config file for the userdb lookups which uses ldap to query our AD for their userdb info. I need to query a 2nd part of the AD for another group of users & unfortunately putting all users into one container isn't possible. [Dovecot] Thunderbird and Trash folder

Hello, I have my problems with the Trash folder in thunderbird. Most of the times (it did work, but only for a short period) Thunderbird is not considering the "Trash" folder (or in my case the "Papierkorb") as the trash folder. The symbol disappears and I am not able to delete folders. Deleted emails are disappearing at all. The usual Google solutions like maildir vs. mbox doesn't help a lot, I am using maildir and the directory structure looks fine. I noticed that I have two trash folders, one with "INBOX.", one without. That may be a problem with Squirrelmail, because I am using both Thunderbird and Squirrelmail. [Dovecot] Multiple SSL certs question

Hello; I was reading the message "how to config dovecot for multiple domains, multiple SSL certs, and conditional IP access -- with passwd-file passdb?", and i was wondering if Dovecot could support the SNI extention of TLS ? SNI is Server Name Indication where during the TLS negotiation, the client set the name of the server it tries to reach I dont know if any imap/pop client support this yet, but this would be a great feature for one IP/multiple virtual domains. Each SNI client would have the correct certificate and not the "main/generic' one. It seems that mutt has a patch for that http://www.mail-archive.com/mutt-dev@mutt.org/msg05251.html

[Dovecot] Hundreds of auth-worker sockets in /etc/dovecot

I run dovecot 1.2.6, before last update I had 1.2.2. on Debian Lenny. I noticed that my config directory /etc/dovecot is filled up with hundreds of old auth-worker.12345 sockets. I guess they should have been cleaned up, is there a misconfiguration? When I remember right, this did not happen with dovecot 1.1.

I'm very new to Linux and especially Dovecot. We are using Dovecot IMAP/POP3 for mail services. I was moving mail from one user account to another new account and the mail just disappeared. Do I have a way to recover the mail? Please help Duane

[Dovecot] listing available subscriptions - shared mailboxes

hi everybody, got a strange issue with 1.2.4 on SLES11. When listing the user's available subscriptions with any client, every shared mailbox that can be subscribed is listed twice, once with it's correct name, 'folder' for example. the second appereance is without the last letter of the name, 'folde' for example. strange behaviour, since this happens with any client. i hope somebody know what is wrong here. thanks in advance, hendrik -- LWsystems GmbH & Co. Hello all, I use dovecot11-1.1.7-1.4.1 with OpenSuse 11.1. Everything works fine, except the vacation with managesieve. When i send a mail to an address with vacation, i recieve back a vacation message, but i read an error like this into dovecot-deliver.log: Error: file_dotlock_create(~/.dovecot.lda-dupes) failed: No such file or directory And then the vacation is send any time, without limits. I think the problem is dovecot can't find home directory for the mail to write the .dovecot.lda-dupes, but i don't know how to specify that. [Dovecot] Sieve vacation with russian subject

Hello list, I have noticed that sieve vacation action breaks some non-english letters in the subject. I tested with russian language, if subject contains letters from specific diapason russian alphabet, the message received with unreadable subject, but text in the body with the same letters looks ok. Here is example of full subject header, it contains russian alphabet: Subject: абвгде�?жзийклмноп�?�?�?�?�?�?�?�?�?�?�?�?�?�?�?�? Maybe this headers will be usefull: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit .dovecot.sieve file looks correct, here is it: require ["vacation"]; # rule:[test] if anyof (true) { vacation :days 1 :addresses ["user(a)domain.com"] :subject "абвгдеёжзийклмнопрстуфхцчшщъыьэюя" text: Тестовое русское сообщение(Test russian message). ; } I'm running dovecot-1.1.16 with dovecot-sieve-1.1.6 and managesieve-0.10.6.
