[Dovecot] passwd-file management utility

I'm now putting together tools/documentation to manage/administer the mail server, including, of course, managing users. Round one will be command line tools. In order to avoid re-invention, I was looking around for existing tools. I really cannot find any. So it seems I will be developing them. The first will be the one to manage users in the passwd-file format. So I'm just asking around if anyone has heard of such tools somewhere Google isn't finding (it does find lots of generic pages with the keywords used in other contexts). If not, I'll be building my own (and this will be for passwd-file format for the userdb/passdb),

I can compile the antispam plugin. Cause it compliajns about dovecot version. Does any one have other way of traing spam with spam assassin ? [Dovecot] Maildir + /var/mail

Hi, I have just switched to Maildir, and I have noticed something. Even though it works properly, I have noticed that a file named /var/mail/user with 0 bytes length is still created. Is this normal? I use sendmail+procmail+dovecot. I have also tried the combined procmail+deliver approach with the same results. I also use a global /etc/procmailrc. Thank you

Hi all, ok, I am updating to the 2.0 way of doing things and have managed to get everything set up right, except I am getting the following errors when attempting to use managesieve with our webmail client (roundcube) that I didnt get when using dovecot 1.2.11... Jun 14 17:20:33 managesieve(address(a)domain.com): Warning: sieve-storage: Active sieve script symlink /home/mailboxes/data/domain/348/address(a)domain.com/.dovecot.sieve is broken: invalid/unknown path to storage (points to Maildir/sieve/roundcube.sieve). [Dovecot] convert Plugin Error

I am getting an error when using the convert plugin for dovecot. Jun 14 13:27:20 mail dovecot: IMAP(user): Mailbox conversion: rename(/home/user/mail, /home/user/mail-converted) failed: Directory not empty Dovecot creates mail-converted, but does not delete mail completely for some reason. It continues to add a message from the mbox to Maildir format, creating duplicates every time I check my email. I can fix it by deleting mail-converted, but I don't want this to happen to other users on the system. Does anyone have a clue as to why it's doing this, and what I can do to fix it? I can send you my mbox file and home directory structure if you'd like to take a gander at it. Dovecot v1.0.7 Scientific Linux 5.4 (Importing mbox files from RHEL 3.8). -- Thanks, Brad Landis
