[Dovecot] cram-md5 problem re-post

I apparently did not post enough information the first time, so I am re-posting the original email with the requested configs. I just updated to dovecot 1.1.10 from 1.1.2 and now anyone using cram-md5 can't get authenticated. I am using mysql for passwords (in plain text) and home directories. Per some googling I tried to set (in /usr/local/etc/dovecot.conf): # SQL database userdb sql { # Path for SQL configuration file, see doc/dovecot-sql.conf for example args = /usr/local/etc/dovecot-sql.conf } but that didn't help. And in any case people NOT using cram-md5 can authenticate just fine, both before and after I made that change. This worked "out of the box" under 1.1.2, but is broken now. Hi List, I of present dovecot 1.1.10 use it, and test dict quota backend and mysql. However, I am troubled so that it is IMAP4, and behavior when mysql fell is different from POP3. I become the error in Copy of Mail in IMAP4, but do not become the error in DELE of the POP3. Therefore I think that contradiction happens in database and real storage when mysql fell. I want an error to do it at the time of the DELE command of the POP3 if possible, but how will be it? [Dovecot] Using dovecot sasl for authenticating in openldap

Hi, I am using dovecot imaps and exim, both authenticating using dovecot-sasl. To keep passwords in one place I would like to authenticate openldap users over dovecot-sasl. So looking at this page: http://www.openldap.org/doc/admin24/security.html I figure it could be done using Pass-Through authentication. For this, I need to create /usr/lib/sasl2/slapd.conf And adding a few config paremeters. This is a example mech_list: plain pwcheck_method: saslauthd saslauthd_path: /var/run/sasl2/mux I understand the mech_list parameter, but I have no Idea what to put in for the rest. Any help? Thanks! [Dovecot] Errors after install with non-standard prefix

Hi Everyone, I'm new in dovecot - so first at all, thank you for amazing work. I'd flicked through dovecot code and it's very accurate. I'm trying to use dovecot with a little bit non-standard configuration: dovecot installed under /my_path/dovecot, all users has the same home directory /my_path/var/mail and have to access all mailboxes/folders located there. But I have troubles with it: Right after start dovecot start spamming log with Error: dict: dict client: Broken handshake besides of GB's of lines above I have: Error: imap-login: Timeout waiting for handshake from auth server. my pid=18493, input bytes=0 And of course nothing works. [Dovecot] Phone cannot receive mail suddenly

Starting at midnight Feb 1 my phone can no longer fetch mail from Dovecot. It endlessly connects and reconnects as you can see in the log below. I have restarted dovecot, the phone, deleted /home/robinmail/mail, all to no avail. I have turned on debug output but it does not tell me anymore. I can connect and see the folder using the KMail imap client. Any idea how I can proceed with this? The phone is 192.168.1.57 (LAN) or 202.91.19.194 (GPRS) and Dovecot and KMail are on 192.168.1.2. Hello. I would like to see the differnces between the expire plugin and a cronjob which make a find/delete. Is there performances differences? What's the best to use? I use dovecot 1.1.8. Is expire plugin update the maildirsize and other indexes files? Thanks. Regards, -- -Nicolas.
