[Dovecot] Changing listen ports

Hi, I want to change ports that Dovecot uses to listen for connections. I have listen = [::] in global section and listen = 0.0.0.0:10143 and listen = 0.0.0.0:10110 in protocol imap and protocol pop3 sections. The problem is that it doesn't seem to work for SSL ports of the two protocols and I get following error when I try to start the service: Fatal: listen(993) failed: Address already in use This is because I still have IMAP-UW installed and running. So, how can I change the SSL ports for both IMAPs and POP3s? Vaclav Haisman

[Dovecot] Clients cannot empty trash

I am having a problem with Dovecot and imap; users are not being able to empty their trash from time to time. Here is what I am running: [root@xxxx root]# rpm -q dovecot dovecot-0.99.13-3.FC3 [root@xxxx root]# uname -a Linux xxxx 2.6.12-1.1381_FC3smp #1 SMP Fri Oct 21 04:03:26 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux [root@xxxx root]# Several times a week different users get the following pop up message when they empty trash (manually by selecting "delete trash" on their mail client): "The current command did not succeed. The mail server responded: Internal error occurred. Refer to server log for more information. {2006-02-22 08:46:24]." The quick and dirty fix is to go into their home dir and empty the trash folder (ie "> Trash"). I have checked the log and do not see anything useful at the time noted in the pop up error message on the users client. I have now set up logging to separate files to make debugging a bit easier: log_path = /var/log/dovecot.log info_log_path = /var/log/dovecot-info.log Most of my users are using Netscape for mail. I have searched the web and archives of this list with little luck. Some people mention issues with quota but I am not running quota. Has anyone seen this or can point me in the right direction to debug this problem further ? James H. [Dovecot] Dovecot and Squirrelmail problem

I get the following error when I check my mail a lot. I can keep refreshing until all errors are gone, then I am alright. This started happening when I turned on the serverside sorting in squirrelmail. How do I check to see which mails are causing this problem? ERROR: Could not complete request. Query: COPY 10223:10223 "INBOX.Trash" Reason Given: Internal error [2006-02-22 10:08:53] All that I am doing is filtering a lot of listserves that I am on to go to the trash. [Dovecot] fcntl and F_NOTIFY

I've set up dovecot on a testbed server. Each time a user ('myusername') connects via imap, I get the following info in mail.log: dovecot: imap(myusername): fcntl(F_NOTIFY) failed: Invalid argument I'm using these config settings in dovecot.conf in an attempt to avoid fcntl lock_method = dotlock mbox_read_locks = dotlock mbox_write_locks = dotlock I've looked through the archives but haven't seen this particular message, so I am a bit lost. I've tried fiddling with the NOTIFY defines in config.h but these don't seem to make a difference, if they compile at all. I'm on lib6 on this Debian Woody (kernel 2.2.25) box. I don't know how realistic it would be to get up to a latest glibc, if this is where the problem exists. Can anyone point me in the right direction or provide some insight? [Dovecot] Disconnect IMAP session after certain time?

Is it possible to have Dovecot cleanly terminate an IMAP session after a certain time? I have a number of users who leave their MUA (Mozilla Thunderbird) on all night, and I'd like to have them (cleanly) disconnect in order to free up resources after a certain "inactivity" time (e.g. 2 hours). Can that be done? -JP

[Dovecot] Problem getting new mail from Postfix to Dovecot

Dear reader, I am having problems getting new mail into my Inbox. I have this in my dovecot.conf: default_mail_env = maildir:~/Maildir:INBOX=/var/mail/%u The logs show nothing special, catting /var/mail/%u shows the new mails coming in, as does /var/log/mail.info Any clues? Regards, Dave.

What fun. I don't often stoke up the boiler and actually compile open-source code, but here I am at the beginning of just such a joyous and wondrous adventure. I'm running the latest level of AIX (V5.3...V4.3 has been obsolete for at least, what, 5 years) and using the IBM compiler (xlc is similarly obsolete, from back when the compiler came with the O/S...oh, for the halcyon days of Unix's youth) as above The IBM compiler is now know as xlc rather than xlC, and configure doesn't find it: checking for xlC_r... no checking for xlC... no and it isn't happy with the quota stuff: checking sys/quota.h usability... no checking sys/quota.h presence... no checking for sys/quota.h... no checking sys/fs/ufs_quota.h usability... no checking sys/fs/ufs_quota.h presence... no checking for sys/fs/ufs_quota.h... no checking ufs/ufs/quota.h usability... no checking ufs/ufs/quota.h presence... no checking for ufs/ufs/quota.h... no I guess this is because AIX has journalled filesystems and the quota.h stuff is under /usr/include/jfs/quota.h Configure completes with this summary.
