[Dovecot] Help with Virtual user setup.. need pointers

I have been reading this : http://wiki.dovecot.org/moin.cgi/DovecotPostgresql I decide to use the postgresql instead of mysql.. but now i am in problem.. I cant seem to get postfix-pgsql sasl2-bin libsasl2-modules libpam-pgsql rpms or files for the fedora core 4.. Is there anyone who is using Fedora Core 4.. and have dovecot.. with postifx running virtual users ... or is there another way besides the link ontop to do this ? [Dovecot] when will the version 1.0 released ...

Hi all. I work with the version 0.99.14 on an openbsd. There are an issue with b-tree and maybe something more. I know about the 1.x-test versions but they will never be in the ports on freebsd and openbsd because of the funny title "*-test..." This looks like an RC and the half world is waiting for a release. [Dovecot] Default_mail_env..

Hi, I 'm new to Dovecot and we are trying to do some tests in a production environment. We use mysql to authenticate and dovecot imap only. But our structure directory is something special. All of ours accounts are stored in maildir and the path is the following: For example the account pepe(a)inter.net /export/maildir/inter.net/p/e/pepe and into pepe we have cur, tmp, new. This is a problem because we cannot modify the database adding home for all users, so in the other side I played with the default_mail_env default_mail_env = maildir:/export/maildir/%d/%1u/%2u/%n:INBOX=/export/maildir/%d/%1u/%2u/%n but didn't wok out. [Dovecot] where is "pam_listfile.so" for static userdb?

hi all, i'm setting up Dovecot on OSX to use PAM authentication against a flat_file/static userdb (tho i will _eventually_ mv to pgsql ...). iiuc, to do so i need something like: =================================== (EDITOR) /etc/pam.d/dovecot.imap auth required pam_listfile.so item=user sense=allow file=/var/dovecot/imapusers onerr=fail =================================== for a userdb listing in "/var/imapuser". all simple & good, except -- -- where's "pam_listfile.so" on OSX? % ls /usr/lib/pam/ pam_afpmount.so pam_nologin.so pam_securetty.so pam_uwtmp.so pam_deny.so pam_permit.so pam_securityserver.so pam_wheel.so pam_netinfo.so pam_rootok.so pam_unix.so do i have to grab-n-install it from somewhere? or are one of these ^ an 'equivalent' ... this _should_ be simple :-} thanks, richard

[Dovecot] Feature request - umask for index files

I'd like a separate feature for setting umask for index and cache files differently from email files. The reason is that I'm putting indexes in a separate location and I need group create rights in directories. hello, i've implemented this on my mailserver : http://wiki.dovecot.org/moin.cgi/DovecotPostgresql but now mailman is broken. WIBNI if the clients' message composition windows displayed the size of the prospective outgoing message as a color-coded BIG number... <50K green <200K yellow <500K orange >1MB red ...or some such.. Idiot clueless users occasionally send inadvertantly huge messages...the problem is that there is currently no feedback loop (like this suggestion)....nobody would mail a 100 pound hardcopy 'quick' USPS note to Aunt Mildred, but they're often doing the equivalent in email. I would venture to guess that this is either a problem with the squirrelmail installation or the MTA. I'm also using a recent version of Squirrelmail in Japanese without any problems. Earlier versions had some issues (like if you had SM set to english menu mode and tried to read or send Japanese, it would appear as 'mojibake' ... that seems to have been fixed in the most recent release) for what it's worth, this mail that I'm replying to came across without any issues whatsoever. alan

[Dovecot] Outlook + Outlook Express

Hi I am having problems with users accessing their maildir mail stores through dovecot I am working on version 0.99.11-1 (on fedora core) It seems to be when the email size is large (450KB +) The errors are (the server disconnected unexpectedly) Have turned on the three Outlook and Outlook Express workarounds I found but no luck. Have read through logs and looked for clues but am just getting no where ... All the linux boxes here seem to be able to handle things fine ... (kmail evolution etc.) Thunderbird is also giving me hassles when trying to pull large mail files. The server is a 2.8 P4 HT with 1024 MB RAM 200GB SATA RAID. +- 7 domains and +-1200 users. Squirrel Mail seems fine and users are using that to get around the problem for now but I really need the pop3 access working ... My MTA is postfix and I am using virtual mailboxes using mysql_lookups.
