Hello, I'am Filip Cristian System Administrator at Astral Telecom and i'am using on our email servers dovecot for pop*, imap* auth with mysql suport. I have noticed that in the 1.0-test* release you have support for multiple password databases. From what i have tested this it's working but only if you want to fallback to another supported password databases different that the privios. Is there a posibility to use multiple mysql authentication ? I mean to use two or more mysql hosts on wich to connect and search for the username if the user it's not in the first database? [Dovecot] dovecot and php imap_open

Hi I'm have problems with dovecot and the php imap_open function. Can't seem to get it to work. I just get a "Aborted login [127.0.0.1]" in the dovecot logs. The php error is: [client 192.168.1.254] PHP Warning: imap_open(): Couldn't open stream {127.0.0.1:110/pop3/notls/norsh/novalidate-cert}INBOX in /var/www/html/mail/auth.php on line 89, referer: [client 192.168.1.254] PHP Notice: (null)(): Can't open mailbox {127.0.0.1:110/pop3/notls/norsh/novalidate-cert}INBOX: invalid remote specification (errflg=2) in Unknown on line 0, referer: Same type of error with ether imap or pop3. Anyone have a trick around this? Thanks for any help. Regards Daniel

[Dovecot] (no subject)

Hi all I have just finished installing / configuring my dovecot IMAP server. Im seeing something weird happing. It seems my Winblows Outlook users are experiencing a problem whereby when they delete an email, Outlook puts a line though the email, but the mail does not delete. Im not sure if this is a an outlook problem or a dovecot IMAP problem. I cant see anything in the conf file to suggest that it is a IMAP problem. If anyone has any tips or advice, it would greatfully be appreciated. Kind Regards Brent Clark

[Dovecot] utime() failed: Value too large for defined data type

i have recently rebuilt dovecot on my mail server as i wanted to add SSL support for it. well, my OpenSSL libs are 64-bit, so what they hey, i'll build dovecot 64-bit as well. worked just fine, no issues at all. the setup is: Solaris 9/SPARC Sun C compiler Dovecot 0.99.14 after rebuilding it 64-bit, i now have a small problem however. I cannot save messages to IMAP folders from Mail.app on OSX 10.3.9. OE6 and mutt work fine, no problems there, but when I try to save a message from Mail.app, it tells me it couldn't save the message and i get the folloing in my log file on the mail server: May 19 16:24:37 wiggum.4amlunch.net imap(paula): [ID 702911 mail.error] utime() failed for /usr/home/paula/Maildir/.Sent Items/tmp/1116534277.P10885Q0M105223.wiggum.4amlunch.net: Value too large for defined data type does anyone have any clue as to what could be the cause of this? i would say simple 64-bit uncleanliness issue, but why doesn't it also affect OE6 or mutt? there is some way that Mail.app accesses IMAP that is specifically tickling this problem. thank you very much for your time, and if there is any other information you might need to track this down, please ask and i'll get it right away. -brian -- "I fear death only slightly more than I hate my life." --8-bit Theater

Hi, this is my fist post :) I'm trying to authenticate users to Active Directory, but I don´t know how to set up dovecot-ldap.conf to do this. Specially user_filter and pass_filter attrs. Hi Timo, How much of the code base is shared between dovecot-lda and the dovecot CVS? I'm asking because when I tried out 'deliver' a few weeks ago I was seeing all sorts of nasty index corruption errors in the logs...and obviously lots of fixes have gone into core dovecot (but haven't seen many go into dovecot-lda) Reuben

I've been searching, and I can't find any rpms of dovecot stable for RHEL 4. Does anybody know where I can get one? Ever since we went from IMAP-UW to Dovecot, we've been having frequent problems with mbox corruption, and I've read that 1.0 fixes many of those types of problems. Hi Im trying dovecot for the first time, and I would like to get shared mail folders to work. I came acress this content (copied and pasted below). and the error I get is: Fatal: Error in configuration file /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf line 204: Expecting '=' ===================================================== default_mail_env = maildir:~/Maildir namespace private { separator = / prefix = inbox = yes hidden = no } namespace public { separator = / prefix = Public/ location = maildir:/var/mail/public inbox = no hidden = no } namespace shared { separator = / prefix = Accounts/ location = maildir:/var/mail/accounts inbox = no hidden = no } =================================================== If anyone has and tips or advice etc, it would be most appreciated.
