Hi, User iteration doesn't work, we're getting: > auth: Error: Trying to iterate users, but userdbs don't support it The way I understand it, I need to set iterate_attrs and iterate_filter for iteration to work. I have set it, and yet it does't work with the above failure. Our config is against ldap (active directory) and generdoveadm user -u "*" oalally works fine. [PATCH] dsync: fix splitting login from host

Using strchr() was splitting login and host at the first occurrence of '@' which leads to troublesome behaviour. When calling strace one would notice the misbehaviour: execve("/usr/sbin/ssh", ["ssh", "-lthomas", "domain.org(a)10.8.13.2" using strrch() however splits login and host at the last occurrence of '@'. NOTIFY broken in 2.2.31?

Hi, I just updated my Dovecot to the new build in Fedora 26, which is based on 2.2.31. After I did that, Evolution (3.24.3) is no longer receiving notifications about new mail in folders other than inbox (the same version of Evo that worked fine against Dovecot 2.2.30.2). The only folder that still gets notifications is inbox. I see there have been changes to NOTIFY code in this release. What would you like me to send to you in order to debug this problem? Hello, we are using dovecot 2.2.13 on debian jessie from default repositories in multiple two node replication cluster. For another cluster I was trying to set this up on debian stretch with current dovecot 2.2.27. It seemed that notifiy was not working at all. Running replicate manually did work though. I found several mailing list questions regarding this issue. It looks like there is some locking issue with maildir storage engine or notifying the replicator might not work. Tried to setup sdbox without any improvements. In version 2.2.31 there is a change in the changelog: - imap: NOTIFY command has been almost completely broken since the beginning. I guess nobody has been trying to use it. Question 1: Is this change regarding the notify process that notifies the replicator? Question 2: When will this version be available on dovecot stretch-auto repository? I installed sid version to test. Question 3: What else can I do to make replication work? Any way to limit number of active IMAP/POP3 sessions from a single user / per user?

Hello, Just wonder: is there any way in Dovecot to limit number of active IMAP/POP3 connections for a single user, not touching any other users? Basically, the situation is single user hammering servers by lots of POP3 connections from time to time, and limiting exactly one user could be good.

fsck looping duplicate mdbox GUIDs

I have recently updated with 2.2.29.1-avh1~xenial1 ubuntu package on 16.04. It appears that I have a couple of duplicate GUIDs which fsck can't clear so the machine is looping through doing continuous fsck runs. Any way to determine what the offending messages are and how to delete or otherwise stop this? Auth Policy Server

I've made a preliminary auth policy server in Perl - and it sort of works (mostly) - but I've got some questions on "proper" implementation. It appears the communication is HTTP based - is the intent to talk to a "proper" webserver, or is a simple dedicated daemon appropriate (which is what I made)? Should connections be maintained, or terminated after each response (which is my current setup)? If my implementation is correct, I may have found a bug, as I have some log entries like: Jun 30 08:24:20 bubba dovecot: imap-login: Warning: Auth connection closed with 1 pending requests (max 31 secs, pid=10253, EOF) Jun 30 08:24:20 bubba dovecot: auth: Fatal: master: service(auth): child 31631 killed with signal 11 (core dumped) Guidance would be appreciated. -- Daniel

imapc making too any connections

Hi, I was testing around with 2.2.31, and saw that it made new extra connections to the backend imap server whenever you make a new mailbox. So client does: A001 login username password A002 create subfolder Previously, dovecot would just send the create command to the backend, but now does (including connection IDs): [conn1] 9 CREATE "subfolder" [conn1] 10 EXAMINE "INBOX" [conn2] 12 LOGIN "username" "password" [conn2] 11 SELECT "subfolder" The new EXAMINE Command is a bit weird, but the secondary connection is a complete waste. I also haven't seen any other action on it yet, but it's kept around. If you make more mailboxes, every time you gain an extra connection from dovecot to the backend imap server. And they all stick around. I don't know which changes this behavior triggered, there were loads of imapc fixes the last couple of releases. John
