copy recursive mails from one account to another

Hi. no full syncs after upgrading to dovecot 2.3.18

Hello, I am working on replicating a server (and adding compression on the other side) and since I had "Error: dsync I/O has stalled, no activity for 600 seconds (version not received)" errors I upgraded both source and destination server with the latest 2.3 version (2.3.18). While before the upgrade all the 15 replication connections were busy after upgrading dovecot replicator dsync-status shows that most of the time nothing is being replicated at all. I can see some brief replications that last, but 99,9% of the time nothing is happening at all. I have a replication_full_sync_interval of 12 hours but I have thousands of users with their last full sync over 90 hours ago. "doveadm replicator status" also shows that i have over 35,000 queued full resync requests, but no sync, high or low queued requests so why aren't the full requests occuring? dovecot + sieve: message recovery possible after rule pointed to invalid mailbox?

Hi all, we face the following situation: 1, Customer created a mailbox (aka subfolder) "ABC" and setup a Pigeonhole Sieve script to file the messages into it. So fine, so good. All seemed to work out well. 2. Customer renamed the mailbox to, let's say, "CDE" and did not change the Sieve script accordingly. 3. We noticed this from a ~/.dovecot.sieve.log (after getting a complaint that messages were not arriving properly anymore :-o ): " sieve: info: started log at Apr 28 07:41:11. error: msgid=<433788c81ea044c4ae49cb39a6f673f3(a)ALB-DC-EXC08.CLPL.INTERN>: failed to store into mailbox 'ABC': Internal error occurred. Refer to server log for more information. [2022-04-28 07:41:10]. " Does anybody in this list know if all these messages went to /dev/null - or else? If the latter: where/can we restore the messages? Which "server log" is meant in this error message? I couldn't find the information needed by going through https://doc.dovecot.org/configuration_manual/sieve/ <https://doc.dovecot.org/configuration_manual/sieve/#> but I wonder if all the messages end in digital nirvana if a user sieve script points to non-existing mailboxes? IMAP connection lost while sending mail

Hello, we have a strange problem. Costumer use Outlook to connect to our IMAP and SMTP Server. While sending Mails Outlooks reports connection lost. In Mail log there is no reason logged or something else. What i dont understand is that IMAP lose connetion while using SMTP. Outlloks reports problem by moving mails into Send dir. Is that a Outlook problem? i have enables debug logging and cant see any reason :( Network was already testet. any ideas? Authentication type for lan and haproxy (internet)

Hi Team, Would it be possible to setup a different authentication method depending on the connection source? I would like to use oauth2 (with mfa) for connections from internet via haproxy, whereas on the lan I run samba-dc and hence AD (krb5) is the method to use. The latter is already setup and works fine, now I want to add oauth2 for haproxy connections (or outside lan ip-range). director service tries to start without any configuration

Hello, - Dovecot 2.3.18 (originally Dovecot 2.3.16, but upgraded in an attempt to fix issue) - Ubuntu 20.04 using Dovecot repo In my organization have run a cluster of dovecot proxy machines, with the director service enabled in a transition period as we have migrated all our users to do direct proxying to backend (e.g. `proxy=y, host=192.168.0.2`), bypassing the director service. Now that all users have been migrated, it is time to disable the director service. Hi, After adding "vnd.dovecot.debug" to the require list at the top of a sieve script, informational messages started appearing in ~/.dovecot.sieve.log, even when debug_log was not used. The script looks like this: require ["fileinto","imap4flags","reject","duplicate","vnd.dovecot.debug"]; # rule:[Duplicate] if duplicate :header "X-dd-hash" :last { debug_log "Duplicate message, discarding"; discard; } [ .. more rules .. ] Log lines: sieve: info: started log at 2022-04-28 23:49:43 -0400. info: msgid=<xxxxxxxxx>: stored mail into mailbox 'INBOX'. I would expect / prefer that the log would be used only when debug_log was used. With too many log messages, the interesting ones would get rotated out sooner than desired.

Can I set a different certificate per listen port?

Hi all, I am trying to setup dovecot to listen to imaps on the local network and through haproxy from the internet. service imap-login { inet_listener imaps { port = 993 ssl = yes } inet_listener imaps_haproxy { haproxy = yes port = 10993 ssl = yes } } Obviously the dns-name on the internet connection (10993) is different than on the lan (993). In the docs (https://doc.dovecot.org/configuration_manual/dovecot_ssl_configuration/) I found multiple options, but unfortunately none of those have the option to distinguish per listen port. Is there a way to setup two different certificates for the two listeners? - Kees

Hello, I've set up a master user for migration purposes and doveadm auth tests succeed. Hi, all The just released RC0 for Exim 4.96 will break Dovecot LDA delivery as described on https://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Exim Here is the relevant ChangeLog entry: JH/25 Taint-check exec arguments for transport-initiated external processes. Previously, tainted values could be used. This affects "pipe", "lmtp" and "queryprogram" transport, transport-filter, and ETRN commands. The ${run} expansion is also affected: in "preexpand" mode no part of the command line may be tainted, in default mode the executable name may not be tainted. I asked this, b/c my webmail send mail from localhost has been going without authentication to postifx. so i am not sure if postfix talks to dovecot without requiring auth too. Thanks alice

Due to a bad manipulation. I wanted to create a subfolder and I wrote "FOO2/test" when FOO2 didn't exist yet Now " test" is grey and I cannot place anything inside.. I didn't see this at first sight and I've placed important emails in it, that it didin't synch... and which which seems to be lost :-( a Repair didn't work out How can I " revalidate " this folder ? without removing it ? replication fails with "Error: sync: Unknown user in remote" but user shows up in doveadm user "*"

Hello, I've been trying to replicate a production server (debian buster, dovecot 2.3.4.1). But I nothing is actually being replicated and for each attempted user the message "Error: sync: Unknown user in remote" is being logged. The ldap settings are actually the same on both server (source and destnation) and the "unknown user" is actually showing up in doveadm user "*" on the destination server. I had already replicated 2 servers and used the same settings. Am I missing something obvious here? disabling namespace in special-userdb on dovecot 2.2

Currently I have such special-userdb file test:x:11111:22222:testaccount_descr:/home/users/testaccount:/bin/false:userdb_mail=mbox:~/mbox:INBOX=/home/users/testaccount/inbox:INDEX=/home/users/testaccount/index However I am still getting errors of a default configured namespace that still seems to be active. Is there a way to disable this namespace or reconfigure this in the userdb file? (When I was testing this on a dovecot 2.3 I did not run into this)

Search results simply don't show up after a long time. However, I got the following error in Squirrelmail webmail (using Firefox web browser). ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server. Query: SEARCH CHARSET ISO-8859-1 ALL SUBJECT "keyword" [2nd issue] ============ Both Roundcube and Squirrelmail webmail cannot open many emails because there are more than 200,000 emails in my inbox. Is it possible to block incoming messages from being delivered to a specific user in such a way that the MTA will try again later. I do not want these message to bounce. (eg while doing some manual maintenance on the user)?

Do all of the configuration considerations pertaining to using NFS on https://doc.dovecot.org/configuration_manual/nfs/ equally apply to using something like Ceph / GlusterFS? And if people wouldn't mind chiming in with which (NFS, Ceph & GlusterFS) they feel is better for maildir mail storage on dedicated non-container servers? Which is better for robustness / stability? Which is better for speed / performance? Thank you.

Hi, I'm trying to enable TLS1.0 support for an old client. Per dovecot -n # 2.3.7.2 (3c910f64b): /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # Pigeonhole version 0.5.7.2 () # OS: Linux 5.4.0-107-generic x86_64 Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS ext4 # Hostname: In 10-ssl.conf, I have set ssl_min_protocol = TLSv1 (It doesn't show in dovecot -n, I suspect because it's equal to default value?) I restarted dovecot with systemctl. Then, from another machine, openssl s_client -connect zeserver.com:993 -tls1 fails with this output: CONNECTED(00000003) 140166917489984:error:141E70BF:SSL routines:tls_construct_client_hello:no protocols available:../ssl/statem/statem_clnt.c:1112: --- no peer certificate available --- No client certificate CA names sent --- SSL handshake has read 0 bytes and written 7 bytes Verification: OK --- New, (NONE), Cipher is (NONE) Secure Renegotiation IS NOT supported Compression: NONE Expansion: NONE No ALPN negotiated Early data was not sent Verify return code: 0 (ok) --- The same command with -tls1_2 works as intended (certificate printing, imap prompt).
