Dovecot 2.4.1 with mbox format

Hello, I’m attempting to upgrade a mbox format based dovecot server to the latest 2.4.1 on Fedora release 43. I am using sendmail at the MTA. I have provided a synopsis of my 2.4.1 dovecot config below. The dovecot server I’m attempting to upgrade is running dovecot 2.3.21 on Fedora 37. In the 2.3.21 setup all mbox based folders are at the top level in the user’s ~/mail location For example Sent, Trash, Drafts, … In dovecot 2.4.1 this setting no longer works: "mail_location = mbox:~/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/%u”,so when a client connects to the dovecot server their sendmail based mbox /var/mail isn’t visible. Additionally mbox folders directly under a user’s ~/mail iike Sent, Trash, Drafts are not visible either. The new 2.4.1 dovecot server creates a folder named “inbox” under ~/mail as well as an .imap directory which contains directories that appear to correspond to the folders at the top level along with other dovecot based files. Can you describe how I would make the seamail delivered mail in /var/spool as well as a users top level mbox folders accessible in the new dovecot mbox structures? I'm running doveadm sync to sync a remote mailbox over ssh (the remote server is running 2.3.13) with a local mailbox (the local server is running 2.4.1). I get the following errors: Error: brain M: Exporting mailbox INBOX failed: Mailbox attribute iteration failed: Internal error occurred. Refer to server log for more information. "doveadm quota get" performance hit after enablig flat-curve plugin for mail account with 1.3k subfolders

Hello I have some performance problem with doveadm quota get -u user@domain after migrating from 2.3.21 to 2.4.1 and enabling fts-flatcurve plugin for mail account with 1330 folders and subfolders. Quota on 2.3.21 was stored in maildirsize. After upgrading dovecot to 2.4.2 quota driver is set to count When I run doveadm quota get -u user@domain command it takes about 15 minutes. Mail account quota is used about 6.7GB and about 10k messeges. Doveadm process use 100% CPU when it try to count quota values. Hello, Using Dovecot v2.4.1 (Devuan stable), I am facing difficulties debugging what is wrong with my configuration. Here is the error: Error: sieve: file storage: Performing t_readlink() on active sieve symlink '(null)' failed: readlink() failed: Bad address Error: sieve: Failed to access active Sieve script in parsonal storage 'default': Internal error occurred. Refer to server log for more information. Hi, I'm using wmbiff to monitor my imap mailboxes with a script that polls every minute: eval "ssh $WMHOST \"doveadm mailbox status -u ldm 'messages unseen' $(printf %q "$WMBOX")\" 2>/dev/null" |\ awk -F'[ =]' '{old=$3; new=$5} END {print old, new+0}' |\ { read old new; if [ $new -gt 0 ] ;then echo $new new; else echo $old; fi; } If I haven't polled the mailbox before with mutt or another MUA then only the total message count will be returned, however if I peek at the mailbox with a MUA (without looking at any message) then the script returns the new message count. How can I have dovecot (2.4.1 debian) always return the unseen message count in any case? Thanks,

I’m trying to update the MacPorts dovecot to version 2.4.2. The build uses the standard calls './configure ; make all’, with standard build flags LDFLAGS='-L/opt/local/lib …' I get this build error, which makes it appear that the Makefile in ./src/lib-regex is creating a incorrect target from the build flags. > :info:build Making all in lib-regex > :info:build make[3]: Entering directory `/opt/local/var/macports/build/dovecot-f6decbdd/work/dovecot-2.4.2/src/lib-regex' > :info:build make[3]: *** No rule to make target `-L/opt/local/lib', needed by `test-regex'.
