[Dovecot] Checkpassword Perl LDAP Implementation

A few years back I hacked up a perl chkpassldap.pl script to authenticate against ldap, and optionally authorize against groups and/or ldap attributes. This works with both qmail and Dovecot, and it also supports a somewhat generic method to alter the environment suitable to use for Dovecot as a prefetch userdb. Anyway, I have been running the script on a qmail-ldap and Dovecot 1.2 proxying cluster using the stock qmail-ldap attributes without any troubles, and figured I would finally release it in the thought someone might find it useful. http://fritz.potsdam.edu/projects/chkpassldap I tried to document the ins and outs of userdb configuration. If anyone finds anything that could use correction or clarification, please let me know. It has been awhile since I was in the middle of it all. [Dovecot] Dovecot usage values differ from actual disk usage

Hi, in my dovecot setup the accounting database table shows wrong values which do not correspond with the actual disk space used. The disk usage says 2.6 Gigabytes: mail01:~# du -sh /mail/dovecot/example.org/username 2.6G /mail/dovecot/example.org/username While the doveadm quota get says 7 Gigabytes for the same user: mail01:~# doveadm -f tab quota get -u username(a)example.org Quota name Type Value Limit % User quota STORAGE 7065208 - 0 User quota MESSAGE 282024 - 0 mysql> select * from dovecot.dovecot_usage where username="username(a)example.org"; +----------------------+------------+----------+ | username | storage | messages | +----------------------+------------+----------+ | username(a)example.org | 7234773131 | 282024 | +----------------------+------------+----------+ 1 row in set (0.00 sec) What might be the reason for such huge differences (several gigabytes) between storage value in dovecot_usage table and disk usage value? There's running a dovecot director and mailbox instance on each of our servers with the mails being stored on NFS and received from postfix via LMTP through the director lmtp port 20024. [Dovecot] Valid config for lda_mailbox_autosubscribe with dovecot 1.2?

Hi, Due to some reasons I've to support both dovecot 1.2 and dovecot 2.x, and I just found that the -s parameter I used to autosubscribe to sieve folders doesn't exist anymore in dovecot 2.x The problem arises because (AFAIK) in postfix's master.cf you can only specify one configuration, and I used to have this: dovecot unix - n n - - pipe flags=DRhu user=vmail argv=/usr/lib/dovecot/deliver -f ${sender} -d ${recipient} -s Is there any way to make the config compatible for both versions, achieving the autosubscribe and not crashing dovecot?

[Dovecot] Running sieve manually

I would like use sieve to split up my saved mail into different folders. I have tried to find out how to do that, but failed. The IMAP server is dovecot 1.2.15 on ubuntu 11.04. [Dovecot] Berkeley DB with Dovecot

I have a friend who is preparing to set up a small Postfix/Dovecot mail system. There are only approximately 25 users. He wants to use Berkeley DB in a similar fashion to the way Postfix does. I told him I do not believe Dovecot supports that. I could not find any documentation relating to it. 1) Does Dovecot support Berkeley DB? 2) Are their any plans to incorporate that feature into Dovecot? It seems like it could potentially be a very useful feature. Hi, I'd like to keep all emails coming from alom-alert@anydomain and not forward those but rest of the emails will be kept and forwarded as well. I put following in the .dovecot.sieve if header :contains "Sender" "alom-alert@" { keep; if not header :contains "Sender" "alom-alert@" { redirect "my@emailid on server"; redirect "xyz(a)gmail.com"; redirect "abc(a)tbc.edu"; stop; } } Is this correct? [Dovecot] dovecot fts_lucene indexes not being updated

Hi everyone, I have a dovecot 2.1.6 setup with fts_lucene. The lucene indexes get created/updated fine when I do a manual search thru telnet. However, if I run a webapp that uses the php::imap_search function, the index never gets created/updated. I run indo the same problem with thunderbird and full-body search.
