[Dovecot] problem with mail_full_filesystem_access = yes

Hello, I have configured Dovecot 1.2.12 with Postfix 2.6.5 and everything is working fine. But tomorrow I wanted to run IMAP ALCs and from log I found that this plugin is conflicting with parameter mail_full_filesystem_access = yes in my config. But when I set mail_full_filesystem_access = no it stops authorization for postfix with this message: <pasek(a)valbek.cz>: Command died with signal 11: "/usr/libexec/dovecot/deliver" Does anybody know what could be wrong in my config? I've spend a night with it but without success. [Dovecot] Convert plugin

Hi, I'm trying to convert users from a sendmail server to a postfix/dovecot server. All works fine but one of the last things is to rescue the messages in /var/mail/<user> on the old server. This seems very straitforward using the convert plugin but with the settings from the wiki, nothing happens when the user logs in. Do I need a private namespace for this as suggested elsewhere in the wiki? I experimented with mb2md.pl and that seems to do what we need but having the old mail converted upon login is much more attractive. In that way we hope that we can also find some 'dead' users. [Dovecot] Plugin Handle input messages

Hi Timo.... I try to change my plugin to read the input email to increase a header line and one \r\n. But i need help to get this input.... My plugin is based in zlib plugin. In "static int zlib_permail_get_stream" function, have it. if (imail->data.stream != NULL || (_mail->uid == 0 && zuser->save_handler == NULL)) { return zmail->super.get_stream(_mail, hdr_size, body_size, stream_r); } I think this is the line that return the stream that is the stream sent by client. I try to change this line and put inside this IF , a call to my function to handle with the input email from client. But i got some errors about the input part. In other email, Timo said, to get the S and W flags in the email name, i need to intercept the email input from client to dovecot, in this part is done the W and S calculation. Timo, where is the part that i can get the input from client ?

[Dovecot] quota not updated

Hi, we're using quota with the maildir backend. When new mail arrives, the quota gets updated. But when mail is expunged, quota stays the same (see imap dialog below). We're using the latest version from hg ( 1.2.13 ). [Dovecot] Mbox corruption - Inbox beginning with 'FFrom' or 'FrFrom'

Hi, Since the 23rd of March, we encounter mailbox corruption for some users (15 out of 5000) using POP mainly via Thunderbird. Symptoms are : -users can login but fail to receive new mails and fail to read their inbox -Dovecot.log : ar 29 11:00:06 Error: POP3(user_login): Couldn't init INBOX: Mailbox isn't a valid mbox -The mailbox start with either 'FFrom or 'FrFrom' We can temporarily fix the issue by manually editing the mailbox so that it begins with a proper 'From'. For some users, the problem reoccurred after we apply this workaround. I have to mention that this server has been running fine since almost a year with the current hardware and software configuration. Does anybody has an idea regarding this issue? Hi folks, when building Dovecot 2.0.rc3 (never used any other 2.0.X before, so this issue might not be new to that specific release), then compilation fails on anything that is linked against the new "libdovecot-login.so" library. According to the documentation, Dovecot is smart enough to get everything it needs from the /usr/local/ssl/lib/pkgconfig/*.pc files. Dovecot 1.2.X just compiles fine if configured like this: ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/${DOVECOTVER} --with-ssl=openssl The problem with Dovecot 2.0.rc3 is, that libdovecot-login.so isn't given the correct pathes for the OpenSSL libraries: $ ldd src/login-common/.libs/libdovecot-login.so linux-gate.so.1 => (0x00b6e000) libssl.so.1.0.0 => not found libcrypto.so.1.0.0 => not found libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x00b2a000) librt.so.1 => /lib/librt.so.1 (0x004d4000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x00110000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x006e7000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x009c6000) So everything depending on libdovecot-login.so will fail. Setting "SSL_CFLAGS" and "SSL_LIBS" manually doesn't help because Dovecot already sets these perfectly fine via pkg-config: env SSL_CFLAGS="-I/usr/local/ssl/include" SSL_LIBS="-L/usr/local/ssl/lib -Wl,-R/usr/local/ssl/lib -lcrypto -lssl" ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/${DOVECOTVER} --with-ssl=openssl Only the hard way works: env CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/local/ssl/include" LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/ssl/lib -Wl,-R/usr/local/ssl/lib -lcrypto -lssl" ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/${DOVECOTVER} --with-ssl=openssl However, setting CPPFLAGS and LDFLAGS shouldn't be necessary because SSL_CFLAGS and SSL_LIBS already contain the information that is needed to build a proper library. [Dovecot] Date problem after import

Hi, am running into an import problem: After I upgraded an Mac OS X 10.5.8 Server to Mac OS X 10.6, not all, but quite some mails show wrong dates. They are dated to the year 2020, which is obviously not possible for mail that has been sent long ago. Now 10.5 to 10.6 is a move from cyrus to dovecot and the migration scripts used by Apple are supposed to do a nice migration. I have seen this suceed a lot of times, but this time not. As far as I understand, dovecot uses the modification date of the email to build its index and deleting the index should make it being rebuilt. But my "wrong" emails also have wrong modification dates. Only the headers inside the mail text still show the correct dates. My guess is, that something got wrong when migrating from cyrus. Even maybe the cyrus db might have been corrupt in the first place. As I can't go back and reimport I have to live with the situation. My plan to fix it is to write a script to traverse the mailbox hierarchy, delete the index files and have all email files with a modification date in 2020 be set to a modification date that is extracted from its contents "Date:" header. Now my question is, if you think this way is good, feasible or if another solution springs to the mind of those more adept with dovecot. Any help is appreciated. When I migrans mailbox from one server to the second file subscribe "/" is replaced by a point "." the first file server subscription: & BB4EMQRJBDgENQ-& BD8EMAQ, BDoEOA-/firstname.secondname after migration to the second server: & BB4EMQRJBDgENQ-& BD8EMAQ, BDoEOA-.firstname.secondname on the second server before migration mailbox was not. [Dovecot] Dsync ignores INBOX when converting from mbox to maildir

Hi, I am trying to convert email box in mbox format to maildir++. It converts all folders except INBOX. For example: dsync -D -v -f -u 'info(a)example.org' mirror 'maildir:~/Maildir' prints: dsync(info(a)example.org): Info: Sport: only in source So it converts Sport folder, but INBOX folder is ignored. dovecot.conf contains: mail_location = mbox:~/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/%u File /var/mail/info(a)example.org contains email messages.
