[Dovecot] Procmail patch for dovecot delivery

Hello! As discussed in the previous thread about "Dovecot deliver logging problem and procmail" I have made a small patch for procmail to deliver through dovecot's deliver program (or any other delivery program). So Procmail does not write the mailboxes directly any more. So delivery is done through pipes and an external program which can deliver the files. Since dovecot's deliver program can not handle absolute pathes, theses files are handled directly by procmail. See the configuration options below for details. Also INBOX handling needs special handling because this is handled through the /var/spool/mail/$LOGNAME folder which dovecot deliver can not handle. So this is mapped (when configured) to the INBOX folder. For debugging purposes you can add the VERBOSE=on variable. A sample configuration for dovecot usage with documentation is discussed below. Some other delivery agents (e.g. cyrus) might need other options. Keep in mind that the environment expansions with $ in the DELIVER_PROGRAM must be escaped with a backslash. BOXNAME and RECIPIENT are 2 new variables which can be used. Status of the patch is that it "works for me". There is no other guarantee ... So I hope you like the patch. Maybe someone can make a short review of the code changes. Feel free for any feedback. [Dovecot] FW: Postfix Dovecot MySQL user/pass authentication:: Password Mismatch

Having some difficulty with this one: I have Postfix setup, with a web interface for postfixadmin. Both Dovecot and Postfix are setup to use the same MySQL database to authenticate users. Only SSL connections are allowed, so I use PLAIN/cleartext as my password type. Any suggestions? It seems like the passwords match, as it prints them both and they are the same, but for some reason it is failing when comparing them... I'm at a loss, and I can't seem to find anyone else who has had quite this issue. CentOS 4.3 if that helps, newest builds of dovecot and postfix downloaded and compiled today, both correctly with mysql and sasl support. I appreciate any input.. - Brad

[Dovecot] Postfix/Dovecot/SaSL/MySQL Problem

I have a current working installation of Postfix, Dovecot and MySQL. I want to utilize the Dovecot implementation of SaSL for SMTP-AUTH. Hi all, i got a problem with the umask parameter. I set it to umask=0007 because i need to access mail with another process with different uid, but dovecot seems to ignore the directive for files. I'm using the last 1.0_rc2 release and i'm storing mail in maildir format. [Dovecot] Dovecot authentication issue with postgresql

Good day, I am having trouble getting dovecot to authenticate using postgresql. For some reason, it fails on a PAM error, although I have specified pgsql as authentication? Here my setups: dovecot.conf: -- snip-- (not sure if you need teh rest) auth = digest_md5 auth_mechanisms = plain digest-md5 auth_userdb = pgsql /etc/dovecot-pgsql.conf auth_passdb = pgsql /etc/dovecot-pgsql.conf auth_user = root dovecot-pgsql.conf: connect = host=localhost dbname=postfix user=postfix password=postfix default_pass_scheme = MD5 password_query = SELECT password FROM mailbox WHERE username = '%u' user_query = SELECT '/var/spool/vmail/'||maildir AS home, uid, gid FROM mailbox WHERE username = '%u' I get an authentication error trying to log in. It queries the database for the password, but it does not seem to query for user?
