[Dovecot] No "Ok Dovecot Ready " on fc3 with ssl on ports 993 and 995

hey friends, I am trying to secure my mail server on FC3.I have enabled TLS support in postfix(version postfix-2.1.5) and want to use ssl settings for dovecot( 0.99.13). Lines of ssl in /etc/dovecot.conf protocols = imaps pop3s imaps_listen = * pop3s_listen = * ssl_disable = no ssl_cert_file = /usr/share/ssl/certs/dovecot.pem ssl_key_file = /usr/share/ssl/private/dovecot.pem ssl_parameters_file = /var/run/dovecot/ssl-parameters.dat disable_plaintext_auth = yes If i do telnet localhost 993 or 995 I don't see any "Ok Dovecot Ready" message.If I enable pop3 and imap in dovecot.conf and then I telnet localhost 110 or 143 I can see "Ok Dovecot Ready" message. Any pointers what else I am missing for ssl in dovecot and I am also attaching the dovecot.conf file with this email. Thanks & Regards Ankush Grover

Hi, i never used dovecot so far, but i heard a couple good things about it .. for one the debian maintainer of the exim package recommended it :-) so i want to change our mailserver (currently using ipop3 and uw-imap) to dovecot ... now my boss seems to favour cyrus. i could use some good arguments for dovecot, also your experiences with it and with other mailservers so i can make a reasonable desicion and preset some good arguments :-) Florian

I'm trying to switch to imap from pop3, so I set up dovecot on my Slackware 10.2 mailserver. I'm very new to imap, so I figured my configuration was wrong. If our symptoms are the same, maybe our setup errors are as well. The problem... while Thunderbird and Outlook are OK, the Inbox doesn't show in Outlook Express. You can click on the Imap Folders button, select the Inbox, click on the "Go To" button and the Inbox will appear until you shut down Outlook Express. Next time you fire up OE, no Inbox. Other than that, it all works as expected. I haven't torture-tested the setup yet though, I wanted to set up one of each client and get the basics running before doing that. Are your symptoms similar? Good Day I am having the following serious problem. I am running CentOS 4.1 with dovecot 0.99.11. The users are using POP3 login to retrieve mail. For the last 2 days we have experienced the following problems. I have recreated all the users and reconfigured the dovecot,but the same problems occur.
