problem with a public folder

Hello, I'm trying to set up a public folder called TestFolder. Header search on Dovecot with SOLR

Hello, I am using dovecot 2.3.0 with FTS Solr 7.7.2. I started having problems where the solr stopped working, I came to the conclusion that when a specific user is accessing his email, the queries made on SOLR are dropping this service. Should this query type go through FTS Solr? Reading the documentation I understand that the standard behavior is that header searches are made by dovecot and only bodies searches are made by Solr. I saw about a recent option called fts_enforced, where it is possible to forward header searches to FTS, but I am not using this option. Hi, I have done configuration dovecot/exim/samba4ad. I use dovecot-lda not exim to deliver mail. And dovecot to authentify users. I have users with mail address on AD. When i sent mail to user mail address, its working. I have distribution group or group with mail address on AD and users as member of this groups. But when i send mail to group mail address, its not working Dovecot-lda can do it ? Or i need do it with exim (or postfix) ? Thanks Benoît

Quota calculation with MySQL backend and replication.

Hello! Over the weekend I converted our Dovecot server from Maildir quota to MySQL backed quota and then provisioned a fresh replica server and seeded it via Dovecot replication. This morning most mailboxes were over quota, reporting twice the actual usage. I'm fairly certain it's the effect of having sql backed quota with both Dovecot servers using the same database. Can anyone tell me if this is a one-off problem stemming from replicating the 2nd server from scratch or should I be aware of other quirks concerning sql backed quota and replication? Thanks a bunch! Hierarchy separator recommendation?

Dear dovecot list, I'm using Maildir as mailbox format. Is there any recommendation for the namespace hierarchy separator? Currently I didn't set any. So it is the default of dot '.' I'm switiching from a rather unknown IMAP Server called DBMail (http://www.dbmail.org/) Planning to synchronize the mailboxes via imapsync (https://github.com/imapsync/imapsync) Is there anything I should be thinking / planning about? Or can i always change this namespace hierarchy separator later on? Any hints or insights are more than welcome ;) thanks & greetings Becki

User's mail encryption with mail-crypt-plugin

Hello, I have a question about the "mail-crypt-plugin". If each user is having its own mail encryption key, is there a way to encrypt the key with the user password, and to decrypt it when the user logs in? I want to, if this is possible, to prevent any user, even root, to access another user's emails. Thanks, André

Creating folders

Hi, I managed to install dovecot 2.2.36 along postfix, with virtual users. When I send mails from my thunderbird client a Sent folder is created, which is mirrored on server by Maildir/cur/.Sent. If I try to create other directories the same thing happenes, adding to the created folder name . prefix. For example, created a_folder would be found on server under Maildir/cur/.b_dir. If I remove the client from thunderbird (with cached data) and reconfigure it, this folders are no longer available. How can I make them be available? replication newbie: some beginner questions

At a customer we run dovecot-2.3.10 along with postfix and mariadb, using postfixadmin as GUI. Now I plan to migrate to a new hardware (bigger machine) and in the same step to migrate from Gentoo Linux to Debian Linux. So I think about how to get the mailboxes from A to B. We use one UID afaik: mail_home = /home/vmail/%d/%u mail_location = maildir:~ I read about dsync and wonder: * does it make sense in this case to set up replication and let the servers replicate at first while still running on the old server? * do I have advantages over doing some rsync-jobs? * I somewhere read about not being able to sync sieve-scripts below the maildirs? We have: plugin { sieve = /home/vmail/%d/%u/sieve/.dovecot.sieve sieve_before = /etc/dovecot/sieve/global/default.sieve sieve_dir = /home/vmail/%d/%u/sieve/scripts/ sieve_extensions = +imapflags } * would the replication sync over all the existing mails/mailboxes or only the ones created *after* starting the replication?
