Hi Everyone, I have been recently getting these errors in Evolution 2.6.1. I think it is a client issue, as I don't see them using Thunderbird on the same machine (though I get a lot of "disconnected from servers" from Thunderbird. On Evolution 2.8.1 on another machine I haven't noticed these issues. DATA command failed: Requested mail action aborted: exceeded storage allocation. It seems that it happens when my sent messages are attempted to be stored on my IMAP sent folder on the server (running dovecot 1rc15, and OS X. I can't find any hints in the mail.log on the server or the system.log on the server, or the system.log on the client. Any idea on how to troubleshoot this? Thanks, Rob -- Rob Frohne, Ph.D., P.E. [Dovecot] problem in rc15 (proxy mode)

Hi, I have test dovecot on one of my pop3/imap proxies (from rc10 to rc15). [Dovecot] Deliver Root Setuid

Hi, I just configured my Postfix installation to deliver via Dovecot LDA. But because I use separate uids for virtual domains I had to set deliver to be setuid root. Altough I find this as frequent answer to this problem with deliver LDA I am not a 100% sure - basically because I try to avoid root setuids as much as I can. What should be better solution - to have all mailboxes with one owner or this setuid binary? My main reason for separate uids was filesystem quotas for whole domain. But my mail partition resides on XFS so I can do the same with directory quotas and I also noticed changes in quotas which should be also per domain in some next release or with patch. Do we really need to increase individual user maxfiles to >1024 ? Dovecot is set to 31768 so it is definately the user process here. Anything I can tweak in dovecot.conf to prevent this? Thanks!

[Dovecot] Dovecot hung or what?

Here is my first major problem with dovecot. I am running rc15 on FreeBSD 6.1. I run dovecot supervised by DJB's daemontools. I run only the pop3 service. A colleague informed me that pop3 service was simply not responding. They could not rcv mail. So I write an AWK script which creates the proper first line and gets for each line the message ID and message file name. Yet after I do the conversion and run a pop3 client against the migrated pop account, old mails are re-downloaded.

I just added auth caching with pam, and I'm getting this error: dovecot: [ID 107833 mail.error] auth(default): file passdb.c: line 178 (passdb_init): assertion failed: (passdb->passdb->default_pass_scheme != NULL || passdb->passdb->cache_key == NULL) A google search turns up <http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot-cvs/2005-March/004117.html> which looks approx like this except the assertion above is in passdb.c. Anyway, is this a known problem in 1.0.beta8? I've been reluctant to upgrade to the rc's due to all the problems. -frank
