Hello Postfix + LDAP , Samba as LDAP server, Dovecot virtual_transport set in postfix to dovecot-lmtp ( for autoresponder support ) Users have their email aliases in the otherMailbox record For example, account_test@example-domain user has an alias: test@exmaple-domain Query from command line works fine: postmap -q test@example-domain ldap://etc/postfix/ad_virtual_ account_test/Maildir/ (The filter in the query ad_virtual_mailbox_maps2.cf looks like this: [cut] scope = sub query_filter = (&(objectclass=person)(|(mail= result_attribute= uid result_format = %u/Maildir/ ) However, sending an email to the alias test@example-domain ends: Feb 28 12:31:40 mbox-01 postfix/lmtp[13474]: 2367A6EF: to=<test@example-domain>, relay=mbox-01[private/dovecot- delay=0.05, delays=0.02/0/0.02, dsn=5.1.1, status=bounced (host mbox-01[private/dovecot-lmtp] said: 550 5.1.1 <test@example-domain> User doesn't exist: test@example-domain (in reply to RCPT TO command)) I modified dovecot-ldap.conf.ext: I changed: user_filter = (&(objectClass=person)(uid=%u) to: user_filter = (&(objectClass=person)(|(uid=% but that didn't solve the problem. Where's the bug? Any hint? max number of connections per ip

I have been haunted by the following error message or months, that we see using Thunderbird. Unable to connect to your IMAP server. You may have exceeded the maximum number of connections to this server. If so, use the Advanced IMAP Server Settings dialogue to reduce the number of cached connections. If I change my location, via a VPN, the error message goes away and I can connect. I have edited my /etc/dovcot/conf.d/20-imap.conf file by adding the following: protocol imap { # Space separated list of plugins to load (default is global mail_plugins). mail_plugins = $mail_plugins imap_quota # Maximum number of IMAP connections allowed for a user from each IP address. # NOTE: The username is compared case-sensitively. mail_max_userip_connections = 500 } And, I still get the error message. I know myself, I have about 8-9 accounts, some with as many as 10 folders (I know each one count's as it's own mailbox), as does my partner--who would access the internet from my IP. Does that number really have to be like 10,000, or something? If so, why does it start out so small in the first place. If not, what else could I do to avoid this message going forward??

doveadm acl recursive

Hello, I try to set acl settings on a public folder including its subfolders. There is no option for acting recursive. But the documentation says wildcards can be given on the mailbox name. But this doesn't work. No matter how the mailbox name is provided with a wildcard, doveadm always tells Mailbox doesn't exist. Folder example: public/project1 public/project1/subdir1 public/project1/subdir2 public/project1/subdir2/subsubdir3 Setting acl on the given mailbox works for all of them. But how can I set for "public/project1" and all its subfolders in one command? Even "doveadm mailbox list" gives the error above when using wildcard. (I also tried all combinations of quotes). Armin

Helo you, I try to build a mail server based on Centos 7, postfix and dovecot 2. My backend is a Samba4 ad-dc. I tried a lot and I don't know what else I could try.I'm new to this mailing list so please forgive me if I don't give right information or anything Samba4 ad-dc is up incl. dns. dovecot-uidlist....

Hello Everyone: Is it possible to direct dovecot to modify dovecot-uidlist automatically?? I have some user who use ancient MUA(i.e. Openwebmail) and IMAP/POP3. Since Openwebmail will insert "Status: R" in the eml file,the size of the eml file will increase by 10 bytes. If the user use Openwebmail first,then the size record(S=xxxx) in dovecot-uidlist will be fine. But if he use POP3/IMAP(dovecot) first then use Openwebmail,the size record in dovecot-uidlist will not match the actual size modified by Openwebmail. This will cause dovecot killed by core dump. Matching regexps

Hi, I'm having some trouble with matching. The regexp in my dovecot.sieve file should match on email addresses, but does not. # The code: if header :matches "From" "<[a-z0-9-]*(a)[a-z0-9-.]*>" { set "sender" "${1}"; } if not execute "grepfrom" ["${sender}"] { if envelope :matches "from" "*" { set "sender" "${1}"; } This failes to match Tamara Denning <tdenning(a)cs.utah.edu> when I check that regexp against that string at regex101.com, it shows a match, but the log (from sieve-test) shows: 348: header test 348: starting `:matches' match with `i;ascii-casemap' comparator: 348: extracting `From' headers from message 348: matching value `Tamara Denning <tdenning(a)cs.utah.edu>' 348: with key `.*<[a-z0-9-]*(a)[a-z0-9-.]*>' => 0 348: finishing match with result: not matched I would appreciate advice on why the match is failing, or what I can change to make it match. I have auto-subscribe turned on, but I had to doveadm mailbox subscribe to a LDA/Sieve created mailbox today. Did something break? doveconf -n attached. Hi, I'm really struggling with the following inbound filtering: Let's say:• My email address is "my.email(a)example.com" • I've setup a filtered address "filtered.email(a)example.com" • I've setup a sending/reply address "send.email(a)example.com" I am sending a message to a small group of people where detailed tracking is required (yes, I know there are better automated ways outside of Dovecot to do this... but let's leave that topic for another day shall we !) Strategy for fts and Replication

Hi there, I got successfully to replicate my mail server to another dovecot install using dsync, mainly for redundancy, and it works great. I want to try to install fts, as some of the mailboxes have tens of thousands of messages, and it takes minutes to get some results when searching via IMAP on a Roundcube interface. I want to experiment with fts-solr first, and firstly on my redundant server, ie., not on my main dovecot install. Is it ok to do this? I ask because I am afraid of how this whole reindexing on the redundant install will affect the production server. Also, any tips on something else than fts-solr? I tried it once, but it was so hard to get it right, so many configurations, java, etc., that I'd rather try something else. I also could try fts-elastic or something like that, but, again, having to maintain an elasticsearch install might use more resources than I think is worth. Any thoughts on that? Best, -- Francis
