Hi, I am trying to use dovecot as lda. I have put this line in my .qmail-default file: #|/var/qmail/bin/preline -f /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/dovecot-lda -d $EXT@$USER It is working correct with real addresses but couldn't find forwarding addresses. This is my /usr/local/etc/dovecot-sql.conf: driver = mysql connect = host=localhost user=vpopmailuser password=vpopmailpassword dbname=vpopmail default_pass_scheme = PLAIN password_query = SELECT CONCAT(pw_name, '@', pw_domain) AS user, pw_clear_passwd AS password FROM vpopmail WHERE pw_name = '%n' AND pw_domain = '%d' user_query = SELECT pw_dir as home, 89 AS uid, 89 AS gid FROM vpopmail WHERE pw_name = '%n' AND pw_domain = '%d' It is querying vpopmail table all the time but forwarding addresses are in the valias table, so it couldn't find forwarding addresses. What is the recommended way to move a message from one mailbox to another using CLI - serverside commands ? Since IMAP does not support transactional moves between mailboxes - The only thing that comes to my mind is this operation: 1) extract message from mailbox A using "doveadm fetch" 2) inject message into mailbox B using "dovecot-lda" 3) expunge message from mailbox A using "doveadm expunge" it this the right solution ? One problem with above approach is that injecting through "dovecot-lda" will trigger the sieve script - which I'm not interested in since the message have already been injected and processed once before - at delivery... Hi, I'm implementing a shell-script (pseudo) solution to the missing IMAP Outbox feature in Dovecot (Courier IMAP feature http://www.inter7.com/courierimap/INSTALL.html#imapsend) In order to remove the message from the Outbox once it is sent I have a question: What is the recommended way to delete a message from a mailbox (from an "external" server side program - such as a shell script) ? Can I just remove the file from the mailbox - I cannot seem to find any doveadm commands that does this task. I guess that Dovecot over time will discover that the atime and mtime of its indexes and maps does not reflect reality - or is there another (better) way to delete a message. Storing my users and quota in MySQL,running Dovecot 1.2.16, and followed the page at http://wiki1.dovecot.org/Quota/Dict I'm burning my eyes trying to find any syntax issues but can't. Multiple mirrors (seems like you have plenty of offers) preferrably is multi geographical regions, using DNS round robin with TTL 0 on www and ftp , I wouldnt bother with the wiki mirroring though. However you could run 3600 seconds on it, should you need to bring it back elsewhere in a hurry. [Dovecot] Having trouble getting Dovecot to read a ~/Maildir configuration

Hi folks Setting up a new server, hence a few software packages have been upgraded / changed. On my old server (only 2 years old) I was using Dovecot and RoundCube (web mail app) and had a good experience so was keen to use these again. The only major change is I have switched from sendmail to exim4 (which was installed by default on this Debian server). Exim4 appears to be doing the right thing, however read on and see if you can spot the error. I've tried two email clients, RoundCube (via apache) as a local connection and Evolution as a remote connection. Both appear to login to the Dovecot IMAP connection okay (log entries included further down), although they don't see any email. The INBOX is completely empty. Although when I check out /home/postmaster/Maildir/new it has many messages waiting to be read. It's like Exim4 is delivering the email into the ~/Maildir folder but Dovecot is not seeing it....
