[Dovecot] Replacing real inbox by virtual inbox

Hello, I'm using dovecot 1.2.11 with virtual folders. I'd like to replace my real INBOX by a virtual one but I have several questions : * will my mail still be delivered to my real INBOX? * will I be able to access my real INBOX, for example using a virtual folder reliyng on INBOX * and, how to do it. Here's my problem, if I look to the wiki page [1], I don't really understand what the _NAMESPACE_1_INBOX_ and the _NAMESPACE_2_INBOX_ stands for. Plus, I can't put my paths in my scripts, as they use %d and %u (see below) which, if I understand correctly, aren't available for PostLoginScripts. I've been working on Evolution's 'imapx' back end to support QRESYNC, and was going to look at NOTIFY next. Then I realised I may have to look at implementing it on the server side first. Before I can even contemplate that, though, I had to mirror it into git. I've always resisted the one-version-control-system-per-child craze, and these days if I'm even contemplating a project which is using some other version control system, I'll start by importing it into a git repo. When making such a mirror, I usually try to ensure that it's imported in such a way that that the project maintainer(s) _could_ switch to using it as their primary VCS if they wanted to -- and a number of projects have actually done so. But I'm not arguing for that; I'm just making the repository available in git form in case it's useful to anyone else who, like me, doesn't really want to install and learn to use all of arch/hg/bzr/monotone/svn/etc for various different projects. hello, i am currently matching users via sql database with: password_query = SELECT clear as password FROM users,domains WHERE users.username = '%u' \ AND users.enabled = '1' AND (users.type='local' OR users.type='piped') and domains.enabled='1' \ and domains.domain_id = users.domain_id user_query = SELECT pop as home, uid, gid FROM users WHERE username = '%u' is there any way i can also insert into database when users successfully logged in? thanks!

We never even get to "make". :-( I even tried a real simple ./configure and that fails at the same point. configure fails with : configure: error: Unsupported off_t type I am not too sure what off_t is needed but this is a pretty standard thing. My configure line : ./configure --build=i386-pc-solaris2.10 --host=i386-pc-solaris2.10 --prefix=/opt/csw --with-zlib --with-ssl=openssl --with-storages=mbox,maildir --with-libiconv-prefix=/opt/csw Yes, the openssl libs are in /opt/csw/lib Not sure what Dovecot needs to build or what other options are required. [Dovecot] v2.0.rc1 released

The only thing I'd like to solve before v2.0.0 is that two people have said their doveconf fails when trying to convert old v1.x config file. I haven't been able to reproduce this, so if it happens to anyone I'd like to know about it (and even better, get access to a test system where it happens, since it doesn't seem to be caused by the config file itself). There's at least one installation that has already used v2.0 + mdbox for months in production. A lot of bugs have been fixed thanks to them. So I'm expecting this release to be rather stable and v2.0.0 hopefully won't be too far away from now. So the "rc1" tag really means that this is a release candidate. After a few weeks go by without any important bug reports, I'll release v2.0.0. Largest changes since beta6: - Added man pages, mostly written by Pascal Volk. They're also synchronized to wiki in http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Tools - dsync syntax changed, although it's still compatible with old syntax. see http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Tools/Dsync for new syntax - dsync backup command added - dsync should now be stable (in theory anyway, more testing would probably be a good idea) - LMTP proxying supports director - director should now be stable - Single-dbox should now be stable - mdbox locking behavior modified. when rebuilding indexes it can no longer fail with deadlocks - fsync_disable=no was renamed to mail_fsync = optimized (default) - fsync_disable=yes was renamed to mail_fsync = never. - added a new mail_fsync = always (basically what mail_nfs_*=yes also did before, but now it can be done without enabling NFS cache flushes) Plus lots of fixes, as usual.

[Dovecot] Dovecot and IPv6

Hello, I am trying to run Dovecot with IPv6 and IPv4. I have the following command in my conf: listen = * This makes Dovecot listen on all addresses on IPv4. I then add: listen = [::] So the conf now has both listen lines. This forces Dovecot to listen on all IPv6 addresses, but it no longer responds to requests on IPv4.
