[Dovecot] Web-based shared calendar synchronizable with Outlook

Hi, I know this request is a a little off-topic but may be interesting for dovecot users (at least i hope!) Does anybody has already had an experience with a calendar sharing solution including a webcalendar and an outlook connector, "compatible" with dovecot ? Today, there are many projects aiming to be a "M$ Exchange Killer" (such as Zimbra, OBM, open-exchange, etc) but they offers a global package with MTA and imap server included. I saw the page about BynariConnector (http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/BynariConnector) but unfortunatly they do not provide a webmail :( I'm afraid What I am looking for is a shared agenda solution providing a webcalendar, an outlook connector and eventually a pda connector, using (or not) dovecot, and a corporate ldap server... What are you guys using ? sam

[Dovecot] Dovecot 1.1 significantly faster than 1.0

It appears to be that 1.1 is a lot faster that 1.0. And server load levels have dropped.

[Dovecot] no bookeeping using public folders

Using dovecot 1.0.10. In the config: namespace public { separator = / hidden = no prefix = Flock/ location = maildir:/home/baratin/PublicMaildir:CONTROL=~/Maildir/control/Flock:INDEX=/var/dovecot/index/%u/Flock } This should be a public mail folder owned by "baratin", "read only" for all other users. Every user has his/her own control and index area related to this public folder. I have verified, they are owner and "group" of the respective control and index area. The problem, while using Thunderbird: The "read only" user can delete messages or mark then read. But after a new session, all the messages are still "new". Of course, only "baratin" is the owner. The problem, while using mutt and IMAP: mutt refuse to change any flag because the folder is "read only". Of course, this is correct. My question: Why is no bookkeeping maintained for "other" users, although every one has his/her own control and index structure ? Thanks a lot ! Claude

[Dovecot] Compile error with 1.1rc6

I'm trying a very basic ./configure; make of v1.1rc6 under Mac OS X 10.5.3. I have previously installed v1.1rc5 with no problems (although I was running OS X 10.5.2 at the time). Machine is an Intel based Mac Mini running on an Journaled HFS+ partition. [Dovecot] Problem deleting folders with Thunderbird?

I am running Thunderbird 2.0.0.14 on Windows XP. When I try to delete one of the folders I get a dialog with the following "The current command did not succeed. The mail server responded: Target mailbox doesn't allow inferior mailboxes." I am running dovecot version 1.0.13-6.fc8 under Fedora 8. [Dovecot] dovecot's deliver and SELinux

Hello, I am the new maintainer of dovecot for Fedora and Red Hat and so I am trying to cleanup some old reported bugs. One of them is a problem when "deliver" writes of temporary files into /tmp are blocked by SELinux policy (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=424091) From the SELinux's point of view it is bad when system services try to write into /tmp (for detail see http://danwalsh.livejournal.com/11467.html) The solution looks simple - just to switch from /tmp to PKG_RUNDIR (line 472 in deliver.c for dovecot 1.0) for writing the temp files. But this raises two questions - will it really work and when yes, is it acceptable for the author? Thanks, Dan -- Fedora and Red Hat package maintainer

Thank you Tomasz! The quota per user worked fine now... The problem was that in dovecot.conf I had these lines: userdb static { args = uid=5000 gid=5000 home=/home/vmail/%d/%n allow_all_users=yes } And I just changed to: userdb sql { args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-sql.conf } Now it's working... bye!
