[Dovecot] Drafts, Trash, Sent

Hi, I'm testing a dovecot installation using thunderbird as imap client. The first user I configured has regolar folders: Drafts, Sent and Trash, and thunderbirs shows each one with its icon. The second user shows these folders with a standard icon, and I'm not able to save email in sent. I cann't understand why there is this difference, and how dovecot manage these folder. [Dovecot] MIME Decoding Problem

I am having a recurring problem with Dovecot 1.0.8 failing to MIME-decode certain messages. The client is Mulberry 4.0.8. The messages causing the problem seem to be MIME messages with "no parts". I.e. the message has some MIME encoding, but is just included as the message body. The kind of effect I will see is a proliferation of untranslated =xx codes, or in some cases an untranslated base64 block. I.e. I see the raw text from the message body with no MIME decoding at all. When this problem happens, if I close the folder, ditch the .imap directory on the server for this folder, and reopen the folder, the problem has gone away, I can view the message just fine. So, I don't believe it's a client problem. (And Mulberry is probably the most IMAP-knowledgeable client out there ...) [Dovecot] Slow header fetching rate over nfs mailspool.

We are setting up a Dovecot over a pair of NFS which mirrored with DRBD +Heartbeat, under Debian Etch AMD64 with Kernel 2.6.22-5. The problem was slow header downloading rate. We had tried to use postal to inject 500 emails which are under 5KB each, but when ever we start up Mail.app, Thunderbird or even OE6, the header download rate is terrible slow. Its look like a few sec for just 1 header download from the strace of the dovecot process, sometime, it maybe longer and this leading to the MUA hang. We had tried dove 1.0.rc15-2etch3, 1.1beta13... and the following configuration is for 1.1beta13. [Dovecot] Create IMAP folders on first login?

Hello list, I am currently playing around with a virtual domain/virtual user setup and thanks to the documentation on both the Dovecot and the Postfix websites things are going swimmingly (apart from an oddity I will post separately about). On trying things out with different newly created virtual users I wondered if it was possible for Dovecot to create certain IMAP folders on the first login of the user? So that folders such "Drafts", "Sent" and "Trash" are created automatically for each new user (upon login). Or is this a job for the mail client, or for the admin who creates the new users? TIA! Hi, sorry but I'm new to dovecot and this list and don't know how to proceed with my dovecot installation. I was trying to set up an Mailserver with Postfix, Dovecot and PostgreSQL. Everything was working fine till I wanted to integrate quota support. Hi, I've been working on configuring a new Postfix+Dovecot+Cyrus-SASL +Postgres server to perform multi-domain virtual hosting with non-unix accounts. I believe I have everything working correctly and have tested both the SASL portion and POP authentication through telnet and all works as expected, with one exception. When I authenticate using POP3: # telnet mail.host 110 Trying 192.168.XXX.XXX... Connected to mail.host. What I believe is happening is that Dovecot is trying to use the uid and gid of user1, who doesn't have a system account, rather than vuser's when writing to the virtual_mailbox folders. I'm not sure how I can configure Dovecot to use the vuser information. [Dovecot] Problem downloading mail with "large" attachment using Thunderbird....

We have a user that is using Thunderbird on Windows to read mail over IMAP and it works ok, except for downloading mail with "large" attachment.. When opening a mail with a attachment with a size of 14-15MB, TB downloads the attachment seemingly ok, but TB stops when reaching 99%. After TB has stopped, if the user tries to select another mail, TB just hangs and it has to be closed and started again to work again... I have checked the dovecot log, but I can't find anything there... We have also tried to create a log in TB but everything looks ok there also... Is there a known problem with TB and "large" attachment or does anyone know how to fix this, if possible? [Dovecot] Maildrop script to sieve

Hi, I'm working on a system that have about 350K e-mail users and 100k users that uses maildrop scripts to make filters on their delivery. So, changing scripts by hand can't be a choice. I "googled" so much and I wasn't able to find any script that converts maildrop scripts to sieve. Does anyone knows where can I find it? By the way, does anyone uses dovecot-1.1-beta on a production system with sieve+maildir+lda? Thanks, Raphael Costa

Hello, When I use pop3 and the option "leave messages on server" it marks all emails read.
