[Dovecot] pam mysql authentication

Hello I am trying to use pam to authenticate dovecot again a mysql database. In /etc/pam.d/dovecot i have: auth optional pam_mysql.so host=localhost db=maildb user=mailro \ passwd=xxx table=users usercolumn=address passwdcolumn=passwd \ where="disabled is NULL and deleted = ''" crypt=1 account required pam_mysql.so host=localhost db=maildb user=mailro \ passwd=xxx table=users usercolumn=address passwdcolumn=passwd \ where="disabled is NULL and deleted = ''" crypt=1 I have the same file for smtp and it works ok. [Dovecot] Crash and Assertion Error

I've attached two backtraces, one from a segfault and another from an assertion error in imap. I've seen a couple of the same assertion and this is the only segfault. It looks like they could be related. They both have to do with indexing anyway... The code is from CVS as of May 30. The segfault happened while imap was doing searches for my pine filters. I've also noticed that in pine, if I expunge a lot of mail that is spaced out through my mbox, it usually gets the headers mixed up. What I mean is that I will open one email and get the body from another. Just mentioning this in case it has some bearing. I'll be trying some things out to see if I can figure out why this happens. Can't think of any more useful info, I need sleep. Todd

http://dovecot.org/test/ I'm not sure if this was test71-specific or if it also happened with test70, but anyway IMAP process was hanging in some situations (I think POP3 hang was fixed though? :). So, fixed that.

[Dovecot] Virtual users with sendmail ...

A quick search of the Wiki for the term "sendmail" reveals zero hits. Are all Dovecot users just sufficiently enlightened that they don't use sendmail? :-) Anyone have any tips (other than to not use it)? Thanks, /jordan

[Dovecot] Script to convert mboxes to maildirs?

Does anybody know of a script of a simple method of converting mbox mail stores to maildirs? I'm moving from an old pop3 system to imap and after installing about half our office with mboxes have found that mbox does not support subfolders which some people like to use. Is there any simple way of converting? I can go to each individual account and "manually" convert swaping data around with Firefox, but I was wondering if there was an easier way. Hi, I'm having problems setting up a dovecot1.0 stable on a Debian-amd64 server. Based on a patch by Andrey Panin. - mysql auth: dovecot-auth worker processed kill themselves after 10min idle time - fixed auth_cache crashing with sql/ldap backends (or was it only with mysql?) - fixed pop3 hang (finally I hope? :) - fixed mbox assert-crash about the file size being unexpected - Keyword resets were written using sequences to transaction log, which caused keyword breakages. - pop3: RSET command wasn't working right - dovecot-auth was leaking memory if used with Dovecot LDA/deliver
